Klock Werks New Downforce Harley-Davidson Windshields

At this year’s V-Twin Expo Klock Werks proposed its FLARE Windshield in a new 8.5″ high size, in 3 versions: tint, dark smoke and black (3.5″, 8.5″ and 11.5″ FLARE Windshields are also available for different touring models). The company was also showing for the 1st time a FLARE version for Harley Softails and Road Kings.

The FLARE windshield was named last year one of the “Products Of The Year” at the same V-Twin Expo because of its ability to increase down force versus a stock windshield.  Originally it was developed out of a desire/need for stability at highway speeds and for racing on the Bonneville Salt Flats.

The “lips” at the outer edge of the shield re-route the wind to add downforce to the front of the bike, which aids stability. The “flip” at the top of the FLARE is designed to kick the air up and then allow it to flow back as “clean” air. (Note that Harley Davidson radar detectors and GPS systems that are mounted in the recommended fairing mount position will not fit with the 3.5″ or 6.5″ FLARE Windshields but will fit with the 8.5″ and 11.5″ models). Klock Werks Kustom Baggers.

These FLARE windshields do a superb job. Having ridden with them for some time now and done thousands upon thousands of miles I would never go back to stock. I’ve run them on both Road Glides and baggers with the bat wing fairings and they truly do work. This new height is great, both for taller people and for running the popular three-pocket fairing pouch, which you couldn’t do with the shorter ones and which was, in my opinion, the one drawback of this great product.

As the Australian Distributor of this product, i must say at how impressed i am both with the Flare windsheilds and the service from the team at Klock Werks.
I have no doubt that this state of the art windsheild helps me sell bikes.
So many times, first time bagger/dresser test riders come back with the feedback bout their beard being sucked up in their face or the blurred vision from the buffeting.
Since fitting the Flare screen to our demo’s, not only have we sold screens, but i genuinely beleive this product has helped me sell bikes.

I strongly recommend the Flare screen to EVERYBODY riding a Glide.
The very affordable price tag is no more than what you would spill on a decent sunday session, but will provide many years of enjoyable service.
