Most of you already know Jeffrey Decker as a master of the “lost wax/bronze” art. So, no surprise that more than one year ago he was contacted by Lonnie from the Cannonball Challenge to create a bronze trophy as unique as is this event.Jeff told me that he wanted to represent the 1st generation of motorcycling, hence a light weight motorcycle without transmission. Fascinated by the Harley-Davidson Strap Tank it’s this type that he decided to equip the motorcycle with.
He took several months for Jeff to conceive and create this uniquepiece of art without using any mold. How lucky will be the winner to receive such a one-of-kind Decker’s Bronze Statue.
By the way, Jeff Decker will wear the number 21 while riding his 1914 Harley-Davidson in the Motorcycle Cannonball Endurance 3000-mile run from Kitty Hawk, North Carolina to Santa Monica, California. Jeff Decker Studio.
Superb as always Jeff! Suppose you win?
Awsome piece!
Inspiring on so many levels.
Decker’s not only a talented sculptor but a top notch historian of American motorcycles, hot rods and speed machines. His work is inspiring from many aspects – art, heritage, history, etc. I tip my hat to him.
As always Jeff, beautiful!
Over & Out,
Jeff
Good luck Jeff, hope you do well in the race.
Jeff, one last comment: don’t lose the name of your studio “Hippodrome.” It’s too meaningful and cool.
