So, you think you are tough? Friday was rest day (huh) meaning laundry day, sore muscles healing with massages, and for all a full day spent working on their bikes.
Adjusting the valves, the pushrods, the chains, checking every lose nut and bolt, verifying tire pressures, filling up with new oil and topping gas for the next morning’s take off. Then yesterday Saturday evening they arrived in Fort Smith, AR and this evening Sunday 19th riders will be in Lawton, OK. A lot of Harley year 1915 (Class 3) in the leading pack. Enjoy some shots of the Cannonball atmosphere with an updated ranking at the bottom of the page (thanks Felicia)
Hopethe Cannonball becomes a yearly event. Putting forever Hoka Hey into the hall of shame. Go riders, we all admire you.
To Cyril’s note in the lead-in in regards to class 3 racers leading the pack it is really three (3), races/ (3) class’s of races in one cannonball run. One would think three 1st place finishes, noting all are winners that competed. They all have my respect.
Why can’t they do a T.V. show about Lonnie Isam, Compition Cycles, be a hell of lot better than Ricks crap from Dallas. Rick’s been around about 15 years Lonnie’s been the Houston area for over 40, a show about his antique bikes out in Pearland would be enough. Don’t mess with Texas, give me a break..from a hippie no less.
RE: BAJerry,
No disrespect but Lonnie SR. and Lonnie JR. now reside in Sturgis South Dakota. They used to live in Texas, but Sturgis as it stands is no little fish by Texas standards. Just sayin……
No dought about that..Ain’t no place in the world like Sturgis. Camping in City park in the 70′ – racing out of town, locals freeked, national guard called up to try and stop the fun and only 15,000 bikers, ride a ridged all the way from Texas, what a place to grow up and become a biker.. And now look at it.. Kinda puts a lump in your throat.
Sweet lets hear it for all the riders.
Way to go Buzz!!
A real challenge to all the riders and motorcycles. Well done to all. Traveling across this great country offers a varied terrain. Hopefully the weather will be kind to the riders crossing the SW deserts which so far is looking pretty good. Enjoy the road near Kingman Az through Oatman as its very twisty and challenging let alone on marginal brakes but enjoyable. Congrats to you all
Sorry, wrong Lonnie Isam: http://www.competitionmotorcycle.com
