You would prefer your bagger lower for looks and better control or you suffer from a short inseam and need to sit closer to the ground for better footing. This bolt-on drop seat conversion kit will easily drop the factory seat height by 3 inch without altering clearance and suspension. It works on all Harley-Davidson touring models from 09 to 11. Here how it works. These year models have their frames bolted together beneath the seat at 4 frame points. You simply remove all outer components, unbolt the factory rear/upper chassis section, bolt on the new Patent Pending FBI replacement sub-frame then re-mount your stock fender, bag mounting brackets, bags, etc. It’s a complete bolt on basic install with no cutting or welding and it should take you less than 3 hours.
You can re-use your stock fender or upgrade to a FBI one and multiple seat options are available. You can select your choice of side covers: standard or narrow, painted or not. Choose between 1- the Standard Drop Seat Kit, recommended for riders approximately 5′ 7″ and over who either want to sit more flat-footed on their bike or, for taller riders, to actually sit down more into their bike. 2- The Narrow Drop Seat Kit: for riders that are approximately 5′- 6″ and under who need to sit closer to the ground For this set-up, the side panels are pulled back from the tank while the seat bumps the rider forward 2″ and is tapered more to allow the rider’s legs to go more directly to the ground for optimal reach.
These kits are sold through Custom Chrome and requires that all 3 major components (frame kit, seat, side covers) be included with each and every Kit order.
Only seats and accessory items can be sold separately. For more information and options contact your local dealer or visit Custom Chrome.
Interesting. I am only 5″7. How much?
Great idea for a tourig bike to lower the seat position 3″ without lowering the bike.
Great idea. Makes the whole touring range of Harley-Davidsons much more accessible to those who are inseam challenged. Short-asses – to put it bluntly. Hey, some of my best friends … But seriously, having inspected these up close, in my opinion FBI have put out a kit of factory standard finish with the product, a product that fills a much needed niche and should encourage more females onto tourers also.
great look without changing the suspension the FBI CCI kit should be a hit fits right in with the bike making the bike as if it came lowered.
.
It’s a nice product. I think that Bagger Werx has something very similar… super cool product that I have seen at a few dealers. It’s called the Drop Seat Kt.
Maybe if you are short you shouldn’t be riding such a large bike?
Isn’t this kit $1300???
WT maybe you could be short on intelligence ! Ya think ?
Nice work FBI!
Pair it with a Legend Air Suspension (also available through FBI) and you can lower the bike 3 more inches PLUS have a smooth ride and adjustability on the go for changing loads or a passenger.
I know it’s a shameless plug, but TRUE.
several copies out there but the original from FBI is the best
…you can lower the bike 3 more inches PLUS have a smooth ride and adjust-ability…
How can you lower the bike an additional 3 inches and have a smooth ride? Wouldn’t you have to let all the air out of the system to achieve that? Just asking.
LAS
Buddy of mine has this set up with your air shocks and it really is a great combination of 2 products to have on a bagger…..Garry at FBI makes some real nice products for baggers, this looks like his or its a very good knock off. Newby you can adjust the ride while your riding for the load and right height you want
I was told the cost is $1800 if you do the work yourself.
That’s a shit load of money.
It is a $1800 kit

And that is a bit pricey but it includes allot. However, not paint or other pieces for ABS module and such.
They do make very nice products.
