It never been officially disclosed until now. Ivar Natin, a former customer a long time friend of Mike Tomas at Kiwi Indian Motorcycles and later a technical writer for his Indian Replica components, has taken over the company parts division, now a separate entity under the name of Kiwi Indian Motorcycle Parts Co. The new company is located in Minneapolis and is the subsidiary of another Natin’s company named IDN. IDN is a full service technical documentation support company writing motorcycle technical manual’s, user’s guides, illustrations, part catalogs, etc. Ivar Natin has also a long experience in the organization of warehouses and warehousing.
As Mike Tomas and Ivar developed a relationship, it became apparent that they could help each other. Under a new arrangement between Kiwi Indian Motorcycles Co. California and Kiwi Indian Motorcycle Parts, Minnesota, Mike Tomas continues to work at his South California facility to develop new components, which is where is his real interest, with Ivar Natin taking over the parts manufacturing and distribution from Minneapolis.
Of course, in addition of developing new parts, Mike continues to pursue the same activities: building custom bikes, doing full restorations, completing engine rebuilds, new engine building, manufacturing replacement parts for Classic Indian Motorcycles built from 1901 to 1953 and of course creating new Indian Retro Replicas. Sub-component rebuilding services for carburetors, cylinders, flywheels and connecting rods, oil pumps, wheel hubs, etc. are now services available at either location in California or Minnesota. In Minneapolis Ivar Natin has spent the last months organizing and streamlining a new modern and efficient inventory system and is already taking orders and shipping parts to Mike Tomas’ clients. Mike and Carolyn great deal and most important Happy birthday mike.
Mike Tomas is a real gentleman, through and through. I’m sure anyone he chose to do business with would be like-minded.
Ivar is the reason I can repair my Super X – thank you for what you’ve done Ivar keeping them alive
Our business continues to grow and I enjoy designing and building cool retro styled motorcycles and taking old original piles of junk and turning them into stunning masterpieces. With Ivar taking control of the parts division, it frees me up to persue futher developing our engine and designing several new models which orders have been placed sight unseen. Another happy time will be when our new 6,000 sq ft addition is completed in 2011.
Our business allows us to enjoy meeting and being with great folks both in and out of our industry.
Ivar has a lot of experience with Indians and was a key man at ExHen right till the end. True dedication to further the Kiwi Parts brand.
See you all on the show circuit during 2011.
The midwest is the place to be, just ask Samson Exhaust. Not that I’m partial or anythin’!! Wiz
