The shootings in Tucson had nothing to do with guns and everything to do with CRAZY! If this idiot had not have had a gun he would have used a knife, an explosive device, an office stapler or a sharpened pencil. There is no stopping crazy.

I do have one question however: Why did no one in the crowd return fire and bring the perp down once and for all? In Texas he wouldn’t have fired the fifth round before he would have had return fire headed his way.

In any case my heart goes out to the people and families of those injured and/or killed in the incident.

One last thing: On the issue of the Phone Holster ….. you would have to have a death wish to wear such an item …. in my humble opinion.

Its AZ in winter, probably a bunch of democrates and canadian sno birds in that store that day !! I know my buddies in AL have 3000 rounds under the shop bench for this type of person.

Jeff i felt the same for those people, buddies of mine are down there dirt track racing and go to that store all the time.

    Jeff,

According to reports, the only person that head a gun was next door shopping. When she heard the shots, she immediately ran next door and helped subdue the shooter.

Since the Arizona thing was brought up, I have wondered where the heck was security. No national politician here in Georgia shows up without one or two Georgia State Patrolmen and local sheriff deputies tagging along. Look at any SEC football game. There are always more than one trooper’s accompanying the head coach for the entire game.

This is done because there is a widespread acceptance of the fact that there are a bunch of crazy people out there that hear the voices telling them to go and become famous. Nothing to do with politics – they are just nuts.

I think this Sheriff Dupnick is laying down some cover to make people not notice that there was no security and that in all likelihood he sholud have ben the one to provide it. By the way, despite her Democratic leanings, Congresswoman Giffords is a stuanch supporter or our Second Amendment rights.

Sadly, my liberal friends present a target rich environment for the crazies in the world because tjhey are the least likely to be armed and able to defend themselves. Hence the attacks at post offices and schools – anywhere guns are banned. As we say in Georgia – I would rather be judged by nine than carried by six.

Politicians are not protected except if they require it. So to say that the AZ sheriff tries to cover his ass is stupid. Another republican non-sense.

I’m fascinated at the way you guys ALWAYS manage to take the simplest thing on this blog and turn it into a political mess…Ugh!! 🙁

    TPEvans,

…….”Sadly, my liberal friends present a target rich environment for the crazies in the world because they are the least likely to be armed and able to defend themselves.”…….

When have you ever heard of this happening at a Republican or a Tea Party event? Never, because the crazies may be crazy but they are not typically stupid! It is a damn shame someone in the crowd did not have a CHL and the balls to use the weapon ….. if there had of been maybe a 9 year old baby would be alive today to celebrate her 10 birthday.

    Over & Out,

    Jeff

Anybody remember the University of Texas Tower shootings? The cops had more trouble with the crowd grabbing their high-powers from their Easy Rider rifle racks and returning FIRE!! An armed populace doesn’t take that crap from some nut! By the way, where am I suppose to put my gun iffin’ my I-Pod is in my holster? I guess I’ll just wear another holster. Wiz
