5th Annual Sturgis Legends Ride On Monday August 6, 2012

Created to raise significant funds for two worthy Black Hills charities, including the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame and Black Hills Special Olympics, the 5th Annual Charitable Sturgis Legends Ride has raised more than $200,000 in just four short years and has become one of the most important charity-celebrity events in motorcycling.

“As always we are thrilled to bring back the Legends Ride for a fifth year,” says Rod Woodruff owner of the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. “There’s no better way to kick off the Sturgis Rally than riding with great people for a great cause.”

The 55-mile ride begins in Deadwood at the Deadwood Tobacco Company and the Silverado-Franklin Gaming Complex. The hospitality and atmosphere of Deadwood turns to the sites and sounds of the open road as riders make their way through the beautiful Black Hills to the heart of the Sturgis Rally at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip. The Sturgis Buffalo Chip hosts a special Riders Reception and meal, live auction with one of a kind collectibles from the world of music and motorcycles as well as a major double-headline concert for all the riders of The Legends Ride to enjoy.

Celebrity to join riders to be announced. The Legends Ride requires only a $150 contribution for the ride, and 100% of that goes directly to its chosen charities. To purchase tickets, visit Legends Ride www.legendsride.com or call the Sturgis Buffalo Chip at 605-347-900 to get tickets to this annual charity ride and event.

Nice cause, but they create a traffic mess 🙂

Just contribute the $150 to them and then head over to the free The Horse bike show at the Full Throttle that day.

Thanks Woody for promoting this annual event that benefits such great causes in the Black Hills. Through your efforts and the contributions of all those who sponsor and participate, this ride has made a very positive impact on several local organizations.

To everyone coming to the rally; make the Legends Ride a “must do” on your calendar of 2012 Sturgis Rally events. Great people, great places, great ride, great fun and it all supports many great causes…Legendary!

The Legends Ride has certainly become one of the premier events at the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, and I’d encourage everyone to check it out. Not only is it a great time, it provides funding to a couple of great causes.

The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum is extremely appreciative of the work done by Woody, Lon and everyone else at the Buffalo Chip to make this event the huge success it is each year. Hope to see you there!!

I’ve been part of the Legends Ride since it started, and it’s a great ride for a great cause. Deadwood and the Chip roll out the red carpet for riders, and all money goes to charities. Plus great concerts at the Chip, this year riders get to see Journey and Loverboy as part of the Legends Ride entry fee. We are excited, bought our tickets!

The Legends Ride is one of the truly great things about the week in Sturgis. It’s not about just the moto-celebs, it’s not just about the ride, it’s not just about the camaraderie and it’s not just about the charitable causes… it’s not about any one rider. You wake up as an individual that morning, but throughout the day all those things come together, and intersect with you, as your own independent and free riding self. Your choice to be, for a brief moment during the week, a part of something bigger, and better than the sum of it’s parts, creates a whole entire experience that you just won’t soon forget.

For several years now I’ve left Sturgis feeling that out of all the activity I’d taken in, all the fun stuff, the tough stuff, and the good and the bad, the Legends Ride experience is what’s stuck with me the strongest.

Enjoy the ride folks. I’ll see you there.

Well said, Manny! The Legends Ride has been the best organized ride I have been on. Never-mind being able to meet such legends as Arlen Ness & Steven Tyler… the camaraderie, fun, and beautiful ride… this event raises money for VERY WORTHWHILE local causes!

The Legends Ride has become one of my favorite Sturgis experiences because it is a FULL day of fun, camaraderie AND an excellent long ride through the Black Hills and ALL to go for a different Charity cause every year and helps make a huge difference in people’s lives.

The Legends Ride is a great event. I look forward to participating in it again this year. A great time and great people. It should be on the to-do list of anyone going to the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
