The Sturgis Motorcycle Museum & Hall of Fame is accepting nominations for the 2013 Hall of Fame and the 2013 Freedom Fighters Hall of Fame. Individuals, organizations and businesses considered for induction into the Hall of Fame will have made a positive and significant impact on motorcycling. Individuals considered for the Freedom Fighters Hall of Fame will have made a significant impact through their work in grassroots rights efforts.

The Sturgis Motorcycle Hall of Fame honors the men and women who have dedicated much of their lives to improving, promoting and advancing our great sport and lifestyle. The Freedom Fighters Hall of Fame recognizes the sacrifices individuals across the nation, and world, have made to protect the rights of motorcyclists through their efforts in the political arena and in grass roots motorcyclists rights organizations. Anyone who knows of a deserving individual can help the museum recognize these exceptional and deserving people by sending in a nomination.

Nomination forms must be accompanied by credentials which explain why an individual should be considered for induction. Please keep in mind that while their achievements may be outstanding, not everyone knows it. A comprehensive overview of their accomplishments is necessary to make an informed and educated decision. A Hall Of Fame should not beg for applications. If the organization doesn’t know who to nominate, on which crieteria are they approving the applications? No credibility whatsoever.

    I agree with Josh.

The Sturgis Motorcycle Hall of Fame Has Announced it is Accepting Nominations.
The reason this goes out is to notify people the nomination forms are available and if you want to have someone nominated you must do so by January.
By No Means are they Begging for Nominees. The problem is just the opposite and that some people who probably should Not Be Inducted will because some that do are Not Nominated.
My suggestion is that if you know anyone who you feel should be nominated do so. Supply as much information as you can about that person so the board can make a good decision on the nominee. Remember all of us can only make a decision on the facts supplied to us and the board is no different. They do have a difficult job and sometimes not all the information about a nominee is given to them.
We all want to see deserving people Inducted BUT also do not want to see someone get in because the board was not supplied with all the information about a nominee.
Yes we all know people like that exist in the world of motorcycling. Let’s all work together to continue to keep the Sturgis Hall of Fame one of Honor and something to Be Proud Of.

The Hall of Fame Does Not Nominate. The nominations are made by anyone who wants to fill out the form.
The Board of Directors then reviews the nominations and decide who the Inductee will be.
Of course there are people who many feel should Never Be Nominated or Inducted But it is common knowledge that they try. In some cases they even try to influence the board to accept them.
The board is made up of good people and we have to rely on their creditability to make sure they make the right decisions and for the right reasons.

There are to many Halls of Fame, some members should be in a Hall of Shame!

Can’t wait to see how lopsided the Sturgis Museum HOF becomes by including all of the nominees from the board of directors or the advertisers. Just how much does it cost? A free website?

Your comment about the Free Website is part of a lot of conversations here at Biketoberfest..
I have not have anyone give a good comment on it and many say it looks like the IMBBA and Jeff Starke are trying to Buy Their Way in to the HOF.
People who do websites say it is No Big Deal or hard to do. They also find all kinds of issues with it and links on every page wanting them to go to the IMBBA site.
A couple of people also commented to me they could not find any of the Freedom Fighters. I do not know as I do not go to the new site.
Most say they will watch closely who gets inducted this year. How the board of directors decides on which nominee is inducted will send a very serious message to people who are interested in the museum and HOF and in some case if and or how they support their efforts in the future.
