Custom Harley Sportster Ironhead Built For A Rockabilly Speed Freak

King Kerosin is a label born in a garage, specializing in vintage and rockabilly apparel. And when its creator decided that a promo motorcycle should be built to illustrate his collection catalog and promote the brand on the rock scene, his briefing to the shop was only 6 words. Build me a “Rockin’ Bike For A Sinful Lifestyle”…

Well, for a biker, sinful lifestyle may include driving any vehicle at excessive speeds, more often in the triple-digit domain. Well, Thunderbike Germany did exactly what its client wanted: building the exact rockabilly bike that a fast and furious speed freak would love to ride beyond its limits.

Speedfreak was built from a 1983 Ironhead Sportster keeping its original Harley engine, tranny and front end. All body work was fabled at the shop and a smart choice of custom parts from Thunderbike and of a few others mean speed under any angle. (see full tech sheet below) Thunderbike Germany.

The tiny fairing was not necessary, but except this, it’s a great custom. Thanks Cyril.

I always wait Monday morning to see what Cyril is going to feature as bike of the week. Again, no disappointment. This one is exactly what I dream to build and ride.

Cyril….I enjoy all of the bikes that you showcase…..this one even seems to have a somewhat normal seating position, as far as the foot peg positioning goes….I would like to see the owner/creators actually sitting on these creations , maybe running down the road. Many don’t look so Kool, when they’re being ridden. On this bike, There appears to be about 12 inches from the seat down to the footpeg. Yikes!

Are the wheels from Thunderbike as well?

  13. 13 BadMonkeyMW Nov 12th, 2012 at 8:28 pm

The wheels are actually stock H-D Softail Rocker front wheels. Very nice use of them too.

wouldn’t the location of the exhaust kinda get things a little warm ?
I’m startin to miss the good ol days when bikes were long , rear tires were fat , there was room for a girl on the back and you mortgaged your house to buy it . Hopefully for Xmas I’ll recieve the DVD box set of american chopper from mrs RUB .
