New Strongarm Stainless Steel Risers By Bare Knuckle Choppers

As of today in the custom motorcycle parts industry, you probably will not find stronger risers to hold your handlebar. In the constant quest to offer new ways to streamline and strengthen your custom motorcycle, Bare Knuckle Choppers has developed these new handlebar risers, aptly named “Strongarm.” Looking very good with their slim profile they will never let your bars slip or rotate thanks to their innovative design, which includes the clamp bolts tightening at opposing angles. Bolts will never loosen or pull out the threads.

And you will also love the fact that this new offering from Bare Knuckle is made here in the USA fromf US made materials. 304 stainless steel to be exact, meaning no rusting and corrosion creating problems. Holding all of this fine package together is two pair of 12 point stainless steel ARP fasteners. Strong and indestructible.

Hope this is a misprint…304 SS can develop surface rust. 316ss will show no surface rust.

Not true about the 304 vs 316.

316 is slightly more rust resistant. However, either will show slight surface rust, especially if heated or if abrasives have touched the material. Even contaminated tooling can take away from the passivation of 316 and 304.

Stainless steels are not inherently rust resistant in chemical makeup. When the amount of chromium exceeds 10.5% chrome oxide is formed. So, basically a protective coating is formed that prevents oxygen from further penetrating the material, reducing corrosion. It is the passive oxide that prevents what we call rust.

The only way to make ss nearly 100% rust resistant is through an acid bath or electro polishing. We intend to offer these electro polished in the very near future. So, they will be tough as nails, and as close to rust resistant as possible.

Thanks for the kind comments, and thanks as always to Cyril for the great write up.
