Faithful reader Mark Strunk & son built this long chop together in the garage for a mini budget. It runs around 55 mph with a 200 lbs man on it. Good enough for a short feature in my news website. Congrats to both.

RIGHT ON
Built one similar back in 1970 . It was my second ‘ chopper ‘ the first being a kids bicycle I customized into a chopper cause the folks couldn’t afford a Schwinn Orange Crate . Having to DIY it teaching me more than pulling out the wallet ever could of .
So a resounding RIGHT ON from me as well ! 😉
Have ya’ll ever ridden these things… man talk about sketch city… I’d like to see someone get up to 55mph and hold it… I’m not crappin’ on the bike but the ride is scary. Maybe with the wider rear tire it may stabilize the ride. Peace!
YES! Right on.
I bet that thing is frickin scary fun at 55.
Very cool, but I agree with RokDoctor-I bet there’s a taste of wobble in that front end at those speeds.
Absolutely stunning! NOT!
It all starts somewhere, bit by the bug at a early age. Next?????
Looks more ridable than some I have seen here. Even with a little wobble.
Thats a real nice bike and I bet Dad just created a lifer!
Cool… 55 mph… would be a hell of a rush slowing it down! peace
Chop, weld, ride, enjoy. Repeat as needed.
Welcome to the fun young man.
I’ll bet his son gets all the chicks in the neighborhood. Agree with Dave Blevins…”Welcome to the fun young man”!
Great fun.
I’ll bet at 20mph it seems like its going 55!
What a great way to spend time with your boy building something you’ll both brag on.
Best
Everyone has to start somewhere……. except the “checkbook warriors,” that is…. 🙂
