How to operate your GPS, SMART PHONE, STEREO, INTERCOM, and talk to your spouse while riding. Will this be the next level in motorcycle safety courses? ..Z

Smartphones with capacitive touchscreens don’t work with gloves on, and they can’t be used in the rain. No, we still need to pony up the $600 for waterproof GPSs with built-in MP3 player and bluetooth, but I’ve recently discovered that’s worth it. Hardwired power and audio means your batteries won’t go dead on a long trip. The fairing mount for the Garmin/Road Tech Zumo is far better-looking than this, and puts accurate MPH measurement (and nav information) in perfect view, just below the windscreen and off center. And audiobooks in MP3 just make those ironbutt miles fall away in no time.

AND I don’t need to switch to those poser fingerless gloves to operate the touchscreen!

@ .357 Magnum I think you might be confused as to what the Street Glide Mount is. It is simply a mount just like the one Harley offers for mounting whatever type of device you use on whether it’s an iPhone, smartphone or GPS. It just positions the device in the center of the fairing instead of off to the side. From what I understand, you can mount your Road Tech Zumo directly to it and still run the power / audio just as you would with the Harley mount.
