The 2nd Annual “Conrad’s Ride” Will Be Held November 2, 2013 During The Lone Star Rally

LSR1The Conrad’s Ride to honor Texas native Conrad Nicklus will begin at 8 a.m. and is hosted by Indian Motorcycle and The Lone Star Rally Team. The start location is at the “Fish Tales Demo Lot” between 25th and 27th on Seawall Blvd. Indian will provide their Demo Fleet for all ride participants who provide proof of motorcycle endorsement on their driver’s license. Gift bags, will be given to all Indian Motorcycle riders at the completion of the ride. The Lone Star Rally Team along with Indian Motorcycles will also provide food at the VIP Tent. There is no fee to participate in the ride. However, for a $10 contribution; riders will receive the annual “Conrad’s Ride, Lone Star Rally” patch. Or make a donation directly to the fund by mailing your check to: Conrad Nicklus Memorial Fund, C/O Woodforest Bank, 1599 Lake Robbins Ste 100, The Woodlands, TX 77380.

Master Builder Jeff Nicklus from Desperado Motorcycles has found a way to honor his son by finishing the ‘RAD RACER’ bike that Conrad started before his tragic death in July 2012. This magnificent tribute to an amazing young man will be shown during the rally between October 31st and November 3rd. Last year’s Republic of Texas rally was the last event Conrad Nicklus attended, with his father, before his life was cut short.

Conrad was born and raised in Texas, graduated from The Woodlands High School, attended The University of Texas at San Antonio, Lone Star College and Sam Houston State University where he lacked only six hours of graduating with a degree in Business and had just started his own company named “Impressive Motorsports” at the time of his passing. Conrad was very proud of his Texas heritage and roots. His parents therefore decided that while Sturgis was a great place to start the 1st “Conrad’s Ride”, they wanted to bring it ‘home’ – TEXAS HOME – and have it take place each year in Texas. Conrad loved the Lone Star Bike Rally because it was close to his home in The Woodlands and because it is one of the biggest rallies in Texas. It is only fitting that the Lone Star Bike Rally serves as the event honoring this amazing young man. If you intend to participate in the ride please drop a note to Jeff Nicklus j.nicklus@desperadomotorcycles.com with your name and the number of people in your party (need the info so he knows how much food to order and the number of gift bags to prepare.)

    Thanks Cyril for the mention.

Just one more note of interest:

The Conrad Nicklus Memorial Fund (The Memorial Fund has been refilled for 501(3c) status and will be renamed the J. Conrad Nicklus Foundation once the paperwork is approved by the IRS). 100% of all funds raised are being used to support the under graduate educational pursuits of young men and women in Texas and hopefully, as Conrad’s foundation grows, we will be able to take the scholarship program nationwide.

Hope to see everyone at the ride!

    Over & Out,

    Jeff

    Jeff,
I would like to thank you for letting us be a part of the First Annual Conrad’s Ride. We definitely felt privileged to take part in celebrating Conrad. I’m glad you have decided to take this back to Texas. I can imagine you will gain great support with family, friends and industry friends as well, all taking part in a good cause, all in the name of Conrad.
I hope it turns out to be a huge success and grows year by year. One of these days I’ll get out there for a rally and I will proudly be sporting my red shirt in his memory.
