Introduced in 2001, the Harley V-Rod VRSC (V-Twin Racing Street Custom) was launched to compete against muscle bikes with a Revolution 60-degree v-twin engine jointly developed with Porsche and featuring for the 1st time overhead cams and liquid cooling.
Loosely based on the VR-1000 Superbike, the V-Rod is an excellent platform that I enjoyed riding several times but that failed to attract much attention from US custom builders. It is a slightly different story in Europe because riders and builders are more sport and race oriented. It’s where you will find (especially in Germany/Switzerland/Austria) custom builders specializing in customizing and producing aftermarket parts for this model.
Reason why you will find a V-Rod aftermarket parts section in the Custom Chrome Europe catalog and why the distributor asked “Frankfurt Customs“ -the in-house customizing department of the official Frankfurt Harley-Davidson dealer – to promote them via “Brainblaster”, the “Bolt-on And Ride” custom featured here. The V-rod sucks! But the power package is a great engine/trans deal. Too bad that the MoCo dont put it into another better chassis.
I bought a V-Rod the first year they came out. I loved the bike. Great fun. I really like what Custom Chrome Europe has done the V-Rod. I hope H-D will take notice and incorporate some of the goodies. Sincerely, Gary Naples,FL
I have friends that ride V-Rods and love them, me not so much.. But I’ve always wondered why that motor wasn’t put in another chassis like the touring chassis or even the trike.
Looks fine to me.
Sooner or later all of-em-ll have a radiator……..
Get used to it.

It’s more Porsche than H-D.
I have a v rod and a street glide. Both have thier purpose. The v rod is fun as hell to ride and the on shown abouve is pretty sweet.
