Not much I know about this custom X1 Lightning, a Buell model produced between 1999 and 2002 when it succeeding the better known S1 Lighting. It was rebuilt in Italy by a shop called Sartorie Meccaniche whose philosophy or manifesto is “We believe in beauty and noisy twins…” Named Belva (meaning Wild Beast) it’s another machine inspired by the old glory days of Cafe Racing with a hint of contemporary design. A more aggressive riding position to tame the Belva, a custom made rear end with a beefy inverted front suspension, a new Norton Endurance gas tank with a conversion from Buell EFI back to carburation are enough to make it a very nice around-town daily sled.

Wrong, wrong, wrong. Sticking a Triton tank on a Buel dosent make it a Café Racer, in this case it makes a right pigs ear of a perfectly good Buel.
The tank does look a taste out of place, as in form not following function.
IMHO anyway/

At first glance ? Maybe . After a reasonable second look ? Definitely not ! Eeesh ! A bodge job if there ever was one . How to take several perfectly good bits and pieces …. then combining them into a complete and utter mess . In my [ hardly ever ] humble opinion that is .
What is the deal with taking good looking standard bikes and making them ugly with a mish mash innapropriate parts?
No No No, The tank looks so wrong on this. Looks like a poor backstreet conversion to me. Take a decent motorcycle and make it look naff!!
