No big innovation from Baker in a long time.

Maybe they’ll make a version with 33 teeth.

Even with the latest version of the HD SE compensating sprocket, I’ve still experienced problems. So I am interested. What exactly keeps this one from failing?

Since I am not happy with the original one from Harley and have liked the previous Baker Drivetrain products I have used I will be interested in trying one of these.

Good for Baker. It’s about time someone came up with a fix for this much needed OEM failure.

Baker simply has the best products on the planet. I recommend them to my customers and just finished installing another 6 speed in a 05 bagger. He emailed me that he loved the 6 speed.

Regarding big innovation from Baker, I applaud the company for the products they’ve made available. The reverse tranny, a 7 speed, the Frankentranny, etc. all have their markets. It must be an extraordinary challenge to come up with “innovative” products for a relatively limited niche that are going to sell enough to justify the cost of development.

Keep it up Baker, you’re the best in the business at what you do.

My 07 FLHP is collecting dust right now for this very reason. The MOCO is fully aware of the issue, particularly with the 103, but won’t do anything about it….not even give me a price break on the SE compensator. FTF.

the solution to most of the above referenced problems could/would/should be the Baker “manually adjusted primary chain tensioner.” the root of most ALL problems in the “late model” drive can be traced back to the implementation of the self-adjusting primary tensioner! ratchets shit soooooo tight upon shutdown, Christ, puts unbelievable stress on components! why do you think they came out with a “Screamin Eagle manually adjusted tensioner” immediately after Baker released theirs! lmao…wow. and BTW, I don’t work for nor do I have any vested interest in Bert’s company, jus respect this badazz dude. and I worked for a HD/OEM dealer for over 2 decades.

the wheel does NOT have to be “re-invented” Sammy….Bert simply improves what others don’t address. remember….what year did they release the 6 speed? loooooong before the HDMOCO…they validated his efforts. Bert got’s it goin’ on.

It disgusts me that HD puts out that POS ..”self adjusting primary thing” …I had a customer “UPGRADE” HIS 01 fat boy to this POS “per dealership ADVICE” on a big inch motor…wow the damage it caused! I have never liked the thing since day one ..I am appalled it is hard to get HD riders to pay the small fee for the proper BAKER fix..the “OLD” proved adjustable shoe set up !

PabstBlueRigid: you are 100% correct! Bert is a good guy and his company is the best. I have quite a few pieces on my Road King.

I get about 30,000 miles out of each Screamin Eagle compensator so this one I’m going to take a good look at an improvement I’m ready for it thank you

I’ve got several of Bert’s transmissions in various bikes and love them all.

I’ve also had the opportunity to speak with Bert on several occasions and he’s the most down to earth dude you could ever want to meet.

Will definitely be upgrading the FatBob to his setup.

The OEM compensator has been made reliable. The use of a CompenSaver oiler kit resolves the spoke and cam ware. The high quality composite thrust washer to replace the roller bearing relieves the growing concerns over the OEM thrust. The composite also aids in quietening the noises. The Compensaver has been sold and in service for over 2 years it is a patented design, it is road tested and proven to deliver.
