Ha! We got 19 inches of snow Sunday and its 7 degrees out right now, Indian should have launched their Dark Horse in Arizona!
These are the models missed by many, that were hit’s with the KingsMountain crowd..
Sounds like we’re about to see another Home Run!
He who makes it to the end point without getting shot gets to keep the bike.

My prediction…
Sweet Home Chicago.
Pretty freaking stupid.
RE:

Not at all.
The 60 winter Olimpic opening ceremony couldn’t be televised because a blizzard closed Donner Summit.
So the HD dealer in Sacramento (Joe Magri) put chains on his Pan Head, road up over the closed pass to Squa Valley, picked up the TV tape and ran it back down to the TV networks.
Without anti-lock brakes
And there were no snow mobile suits to be had back then.

Oooops, my bad…..
Joe’s way too young.
Its Pappa Armando “the iron man” i’m talking about.

Wow, peeps be freaking over Indian scheduling a ride next week in Chitown. Funny. In the day we would roll to the gin mill for a frosty as long as we could get the rubber onto asphalt. Find a parking space in the bike lot for sure but there were still bikes in the lot alongside ours.
A lot of cows sacrificed their lives so that we could night ride through the New England winters. Heated seat? Maybe a garbage bag wrapped around it to keep it from frosting up.
Now it’s all “OMG five miles in winter”. Maybe they’ll have a fireside tea and biscuits social for the ladies while the men ride.
I envy those Chicagoans that go. They will have stories to tell their grandkids.
Hopefully, Indian will produce a Dark Horse in a gloss black finish and not just that stupid trendy matte black. It’d be cool if they’d hop up the engine a bit for that model too.
A shame that Polaris doesn’t have enough imagination to not re-use a name done by Kings Mountain. Register to hopefully be one of many to ride what shows up for display purposes? Sounds like a true gamble considering the failure of Polaris to come through on other things and to remotely think about driving 700 miles or further for a 5 mile jaunt? There has to be a bit more incentive than that. Having also driven in snow and on ice and growing up in Wisconsin where anything can happen to include the windy city means anyone showing up will have a story or two to tell.
@Tim , lets be honest .. this is just a teaser and a simple square filler. A lot of folks out there have been talking about this model , hoping for it, on the forums. It’ll kick in sales a notch more. There is a rumor tied to this that the engines are lighter ( via CARB) .. does that mean more HP or Torque?
The big release is in Sturgis. Will we see a Springfield model? That’s the rumor. And .. what does that mean? THAT.. is the big question.
In the meantime, we get to see some nice bikes / models out of Chicago .. and .. we’re all waiting for the Viral video of a few morons trying to kill themselves and others in the group , on their bike(s) in the snow and ice? 🙂
What’s all the commotion about?! Riding an Indian in the winter…no problem. 🙂 http://youtu.be/FmSytwzlBWI
Must not have any superstitious people over there at Polaris.
Yeah … unless PVI has a 3WD sidecar in the wings no one has mentioned they may want to re-consider this event …. not to mention start paying a little bit more attention to the weather when announcing something like this
“Cookies and tea for the ladies while the men ride”. Lol. Are you kidding me? I’d ride that 5 miles anytime while the men folk sit around the fire. Just sayin’
TJ Martin. What is PVI??? The stock symbol of Polaris is PII. Another mistake in your comment. In all comments you make!
Yea yea , I know, I’m weak, but it must be min 70 here to ride, if it gets down to 60 , We stay in the house and build a fire🔥…82 here yesterday, just right😃
Patrick, you might check on that.
Mr Sereno – PVI is my shorthand for Polaris / Victory / Indian … referring of course to the three principal monikers and not the stock abbreviation of which Im guessing pretty much hardly anyone here really concerns themselves with . Now really … Was that so very difficult to comprehend ? If so … my condolences . Now … care to tackle a few more of what you perceive to be errors on my part that are in actuality facts that for what ever reason you are unaware of ?
Thought not ! Now play nice … have a bit of a laugh … enjoy the small moment of jocularity I posted intended to be mildly humorous … and quit trying to convince us how smart you think you are
Oh … and by the way … for your edification . Its PII … not PVI … 😉
Ms Simons, when I refer to ladies I am not referring to gender. I am commenting on a reluctance to get out and ride because the thermometer isn’t in the… pleasant zone.
I hear you Pop! 🙂
Hell, wish I was in the Chi-town area I might be tempted !!!
Want to see the “Dark Horse” & what it is going to bring to the table that’s different.
We will see ????
tj, what is it about your remarks that precipitates critique? i find your comments interesting and thoughtful.
If they were doing this in Minneapolis I’d be there in a heartbeat. Sounds like fun, should be a really cool addition to the lineup. Hopefully it is more than a different paint scheme as is usually the case.
