Being the most expensive in your category is one way to do business. In this case, the price is US$280,000 asked by a Switzerland-based company for its just unveiled very futuristic high-tech motorcycle, The Feline One. The model is a combo of the most expensive materials, titanium, carbon, aerospace aluminum and very fine leather.
The design is the result of a 4-year technological development based on a design by French designer Yacouba Galle. Powering the Feline is a three-cylinder 801 cc engine coupled to a 6-speed tranny with a maximum power output of 170 bhp in an ultra light rigid frame with anti-dive front forks for a total weight of only (155kg). Only 50 units will be produced. Enough innovations to seduce 50 clients around the world. Not sure…
Seems like a pretty high end, high performance bike that is way too expensive. Looks alright, but what a gay name.
If they can make money more power to them. I love the concept but at 280k it’s no longer a motorcycle so much as a trophy.
1) A photo rather than a digital rendering from the company would be helpful
2) Modern ? Yes . In any way shape or form the least bit practical ? Not from what the renderings are showing
3) Make money BobS ? Really ? And you expect us to take your financial wisdom seriously ? Hint ; Wanna make a million selling a limited production extremely high end bike ? Spend $10 million
4) An 801 cc motor even if turbo’d or supercharged is never going to propel this thing fast enough to justify the price tag
5) For that amount of money one could buy a Vyrus [ which will no doubt run circles around this .. and be guaranteed to work as advertised ] .. as well as JT Nesbitt’s latest … and still have enough left over to commission the custom builder of your choice to build the perfect Custom/Chopper what ever to fill your most wildest dreams … along with a Godet Egli Vincent … for those days you’re feeling a bit .. nostalgic 😉
THAT’S FUCKING UGLY . AND OVER PRICED
Not feline it at all…
Not my taste, or budget. If anyone is interested I plan on growing some tomatoes this year for 800 dollars each, and I have a new skateboard I would let go for around 30 grand.
Seriously, why would anyone (rich or not) want this bike at 280,000 bucks? No pedigree, no history, not great looking, etc. I doubt this financial endeavor will go through.
Dave some people will want it so they can brag to their friends that this thing sitting in their pristine 24 car garage is one of only fifty 280,000 dollars thingsamajigs. Anyone can have a Harley in their two car garage, but you gotta be loaded to have a 100k WCC or OCC dressing up a corner of your trophy room. So if you have something even more exclusive you must be super loaded. It has nothing to do with pedigree or history, it’s about your billionaire friends being impressed with your toys. Garuntee you these things are going to be parked next to McClarens that never see a track either.
Life of the worlds true 1%ers
BobS,
I understand very well that wealthy clients pay high prices for exclusivity, I have even sold a few myself. I just don’t see anybody getting into this bike because it means nothing special to own it, other than it costs a lot. Most any marquee will have a bike to roust it on a track, or a beauty/rarity contest.
Please understand, I am not knocking the bike itself, just the notion that anybody will buy it for 280 grand… maybe not even 80 grand. Just too much other spectacular old, rare, significant, stuff out there for rich folks to prize, to bother including this one in their collection, in my not so humble opinion.
Interesting design concept.
Might appeal to some modern art types.
Not so much to old farts like me.

So Chopmonster, tell us how you really feel. ..Z
Did Matt Chambers have anything to do with this?
Is this a test to see what country is stupid enough to spend that kind of money on crap?
If it is that good it should have race cred ?
ie like the Britten
Betcha Leno will have 1?
Isle of Man TT. Race it there, win, then talk cost.
Assuming they sell all 50 units ( to 50 very wealthy fools) that is a gross income of $14M. Should leave a nice net after R&D and manufacturing costs are covered. Perhaps an interesting form of retirement planning. 😉
