William Shatner, the legendary Hollywood icon that captained the Starship Enterprise for over 30 years,, has teamed up with American Wrench to create the first-of-its-kind “Rivet” motorcycle. The bike, straight from the creative brain of Shatner alongside American Wrench owner/designer Kevin Sirotek, looks like a land jet and certainly unlike anything else.
In conjunction with the release of “Rivet”, Shatner will be riding across the country to showcase the machine on the open road. The ride will kick off on June 23rd from the American Wrench shop just outside of Chicago. It will be an 8-day journey showcasing “Rivet in various cities across the United States and will be following the legendary Route 66 for most of the trek.
Accompanying Shatner on the ride will be some of the team from American Wrench and members of The American Legion Riders. Shatner will be meeting with Legion members along the route to raise awareness for the work The American Legion does nationwide. The journey will be making stops in St. Louis, Kansas City, Oklahoma City, Amarillo, Albuquerque, Flagstaff, Las Vegas before wrapping up in Los Angeles on June 30th.
The journey will also be documented for an upcoming television show. The show will follow Shatner and company on their voyage through each city and traveling along the route. There will be opportunities in each city for people to come out and see the Rivet in person and meet Shatner and the riders.
Somebody please tell me I pulled a Rip Van Winkle and its really April 1st not June 2nd …. please !
Why the detour off of legendary Route 66 to Las Vegas?
Another infomercial-some Star-Trekkie will just have to have one. For the Halloween party or the conventions.
Who cares about the driver more about the Bike
What kind of an Entourage will there be…Is Spock watching over him? I don’t live that far from his route but the timing maybe bad for a gander….New grandson arriving in that time frame….Good Luck Captain!

BE IT WHAT IT MAY , I MUST APPLAUD THE MAN FOR HIS ENERGY AND SPIRIT . WHILE THE MACHINE IS WHAT IT IS , IT IS STILL FOCUSED PERSPECTIVE INTO THE THE CREATIVE ASPECTS OF CREATING , PRODUCING AND PUTTING THOSE EFFORTS INTO “THE RIDE” ….THE MAN SEEMS NOT ONE TO SLOWLY DIMINISH INTO A LACK OF LUSTER FOR LIFE….
beam me up scotty…….. ive seen enough
Not sure about the machine (motorcycle, trike, slingshot?) but I think the tour is a great idea for the Priceline Negotiator.
I am not thrilled with the design of the ‘bike’, but, jeez, the man is 84 years of age!
We should all pray that we might be as active as Shatner is when we reach our mid-eighties!

While we are talking about old’er men on motorcycles, me included, how about Ted Fenwick beating a field more than half his age at the Pre-TT Classic.
