J&P Cycles Moving Its Headquarters And Operations. National Motorcycle Museum Remains In Anamosa, Iowa.

1JPJ&P Cycles released information regarding how they will implement some big changes in an effort to make their customer service even better. The changes will, over time, impact the location of retail and warehousing operations currently in Anamosa. Plans call for the J&P Cycles warehouse to move to Louisville, Kentucky, the administrative offices to move to Texas, and call center operations will move to Daytona Beach, Florida. The nice showroom now in Anamosa might stay or get relocated.

2JPSince the National Motorcycle Museum is an entirely separate 501(c)3 corporation, completely separate from J&P Cycles, and there has never been any corporate management relationship between it and the Museum, these changes do not impact the Museum. If you have donated or loaned motorcycles, they will still be at the Museum, in Anamosa, Iowa, and the Museum will be open daily, year around. The Museum and J&P Cycles do promote each other in their respective marketing work, and with J&P Cycles’ reach to over a million customers, it has beena helpful marketing partner for the Museum.

3JPSaid John Parham, Founder of J&P Cycles, and President of the Board of Directors of the National Motorcycle Museum, “While I know that improving customer service is important to hold a strong position in the market, and with the internet, people want everything now, it is painful to see the company that Jill and I built here in Anamosa, move its headquarters. Having retired from the company a few years ago we wish the employees and the leadership, including our son Zach who serves as Vice President/General Manager all the best, continued success and growth. And I must say we are very grateful for all of you who continue to lend your support to the National Motorcycle Museum.”

Glad the museum will stay, and wish J&P the best in these moves… Hope current employees have offer to move with the company they work for.

That’s a shame- J&P must have received some sweet candy from KY and TX, but they’ll never be able to replace the quality of employees they had in Iowa. Good luck on finding anyone to even show up to work on a regular basis in Daytona.

Welcome to Kentucky! As far as the Iowa employees, I hope as many as possible might come along, I have only good things to say about J&P and its employees.

Financially/geographically splitting up the entity will only end up pushing up overhead & operating expenses in the long run..any short term gain by the incentives offered by the states will expire evetually and will cause a hardship on the corporation…been there/done that..its always harder to manage a company when its spread across 3 or 4 different states…most logical companies work to consolodate offices/locations to control management & costs…good luck…

Zenaldo, if you google U.P.S. and Louisville, Ky you will very quickly realize why J&P chose Louisville. Everything else is simple, Daytona because of Bike Week ^ Texas will serve the warm southwest riding states including southern California. It is a no-brainer… plus the museum is a Sturgis adjacent riding destination, no point in moving it, not to mention the south has museums such as Wheels Through Time, Barber, Cyclemo’s and more.
I think it is a very valid business move, but I do feel for those workers not able to move with the company.

J&P cycles is part of the MAG group which was bought out by LDI (parent company of Tucker Rocky/ Bikers Choice) last year. Coincidently they have a warehouse in Loiusville KY and another one in Jacksonville FL (close enough to Daytona for the purpose of PR spin in a press release). Oh and they are headquartered in Fortworth TX. Makes a lot more sense now, doesn’t it? Welcome to corporate America.

Anyone who’s been to Daytona knows J&P has had a store and call center in Daytona for years. That’s got nothing to do with a split.

Bill Hilly nailed it. That’s the downside of selling a family business to a larger conglomerate. The acquisition is reduced to a mere quantity. Very sad for the IA employees that did such a great job all these years. From a geographical shipping standpoint, we all know the Anamosa location was as good or better than the KY one.

I echo Dave Blevins, Welcome to the Bluegrass State !!!!
But, again, that really sucks for the people in Iowa that can’t /won’t leave that state.
Sign of the times, but, it still sucks !!!
So where is next year’s Open House going to be ???
    Ky, TX, or Fla. ?????

I hope they have a retail counter in Louisville since thats where I live. I moved to Louisville in 1983 as I’m employed by UPS, still am. UPS picked Louisville back in the day because 60% of the population of the U.S. is one hour flight for a cargo jet.
