cyril-Huze-fast-newsBill To Allow Motorcycle Lane-Splitting Stalls In California. Legislation to allow California motorcyclists to ride between vehicles in slow-moving traffic has stalled in the state Legislature. Assemblyman Bill Quirk of Hayward, a Democrat, is putting the legislation on hold for this year while he figures out how to implement lane-splitting. Although California bikers regularly engage in lane-splitting, the practice is at the discretion of law enforcement and exists in a legal gray area. a bill by Republican Tom Lackey of Palmdale would have required motorcycles to drive below 50 miles per hour when splitting lanes. The legislation has support from law enforcement groups but the American Motorcyclist Association opposed it.

Hawaii Bill To Eliminate Ethanol in Gasoline. Legislation to repeal the requirement that gasoline offered for sale in Hawaii contain a percentage of ethanol was signed into law by Governor David Ige. The new law becomes effective December 31, 2015. The law recognizes that the requirement of blending ethanol into gasoline does not produce any economic benefit for the state and the import of ethanol creates an economic burden for state residents. Ethanol increases water formation, which can then corrode metals and dissolve plastics and rubber, especially over a period of time when the vehicle is not used. Current high-performance specialty parts along with pre-model-year ’01 cars and parts may be most susceptible to corrosion. The lifespan of vehicles and equipment can be dramatically reduced with the wrong fuel, and owners could be confronted with breakdowns.

At least Hawaii has more sense then Buffalo Chip. Hawaii bans ethanol and Buffalo Chip takes them on as a sponsor and allows them to give free ethanol crap to their campers to screw up their bikes.

Having grown up on a corn farm I remember very clearly how, once ethanol became the mandated fuel in the Clean Air Act of 1992, demand increased, corn prices increased, and for a couple years until Big Ag increased the prices for all the inputs commensurately, my dad actually made some money.

With that being said, I couldn’t be happier that Hawaii has eliminated the ethanol mandate and look forward to other states following their lead.

And there in lies the problem.
These Clowns in the CA legislature couldn’t “figure out” which side was up even if gravity came with instructions.

The bureaucracy here is getting worse by the day.
All of-em need to be put on part-time and forced to go get real jobs.

If CA legislators can’t “figure it out” what does that say about the other 49 states that won’t even consider lane splitting? Seems to me we are and have been and will remain out front…..

Personally I only lane split when traffic is stopped or moving very slowly when it actually has some affect and I do it at a pretty slow speed. Biggest problem is a-holes lane splitting at 70mph for no reason. Its also how they get killed.

It has been proven over and over again that it actually takes MORE energy to produce Ethanol than the energy that Ethanol ends up producing. So why have it? This was legislation that was pushed through by big money which lined the pockets of the multitudes of corrupt politicians in this country. The only way the US is ever going to return to the greatest country on earth is to put politicians on notice that they will be closely scrutinized on how they vote on every piece of legislation. The only way THAT will happen is when “We the People” end the constant bickering between the two major parties – which is something no politician wants because the bickering keeps the focus off of them and their corruption. Less Government involvement = Less problems. I’ll jump off my soapbox now – carry on – and check out my website! :D))))
