Springer Front End For Tall Front Wheels Up To 26” On Softail & Dyna

1springer262springer263springer26Will the tall wheel trend mainly seen on full customs built from the ground up and on baggers extend to the Harley Softail and Dyna lines? Until now, there was nowhere to order a classic style Springer front end to fit wheels from 23” to 26”.

A young shop called Backbone Built Bikes and Three Two Choppers have teamed up to offer such a Springer with proper trail with no neck cutting. The kit includes the Springer front end in chrome, black, or raw finish with polished hardware, the brake bracket, the stainless brake link with polished stainless heim joints, a 2-piston Brembo brake caliper, a billet headlight with tri-bar headlight and a billet headlight mount, Timken neck bearings, bearing races, fork stop, dust cover, chrome hardware, and drag bars.

MSRP. $4650.00 (Raw finish) , $4850.00 (Black powder coat finish), $4950.00 (Chrome finish) Contact Joel Gurath on our behalf at Backbone Built Bikes 920-948-1125. (photography @ Don Kates of Shooters for Cyril Huze)

Highrpm could you build one for less??? I have no stake in this front end but it looks to be well built… Have you priced raw materials lately? everything is expensive rent, labor, materials, R&D, machine tools, etc… Why is it some people fail to see this… Im sure everyone wants to get paid for the work they do so why is it they seem to want everyone else not to…

I’m with highrpm on this. Seems like a lot of money for basically a stretched front end. And I do know the cost of materials and labor today. Deal with it everyday. That being said, Some people know the cost of everything and the value of nothing.

Expensive front end, expensive front wheel, and a cheap vee rubber tire. Makes sense…

That is one major problem with the stupid big wheel craze. Vee rubber is one of the only companies that offers tires in the large sizes and they suck. I’ve had customers with chunks of tread come off of them before. Pure crap. I know Metzeler and Avon make a couple, 23″? But yeah, what do you expect for these big wheel show bikers, they don’t really ride them much anyway.

@Steal Your Face- Metzeler has a 26″ coming, but it keeps getting delayed. Shinko offers a 23″ & 26″, and it’s a far better tire than the Vee Rubber
