Intelligent Motorcycle Headlight Lights The Way Around Corners And Eliminates The Rider’s Blind Spot

1headlight2headlightStandard low-beam motorcycle headlights are next to useless in dark corners, The concept of a “leaning headlight” is not completely new. But this one installs in 15 minutes in any Harley and Metric 7” headlight. As you lean your bike over. The J.W. Speaker Model 8790 Adaptive Low Beam LED headlight fires up additional angled lights to fill in the blind spot you get when you’re cornering in the dark.

The lamp will automatically activate additional LEDs and optics on either side to keep the beam pattern on the road where it is needed for leans up to 30 degrees. Over 30 degrees the light is still there, but does not increase anymore.

If you like the concept, you will have to go over the Star Wars look and accept the big price, the J.W. Speaker Model 8790 Adaptive Low Beam LED Headlight retailing from $700 to US$800. Just make a search for the cheapest online distributor. The symmetrical beam pattern is approved for DOT and ECE so pretty much legal everywhere in the world for use on a motorcycle. The lens is marked with DOT and ECE approvals to keep police officers happy.

The function only works in low beam because within ECE countries this is all that is currently legal.

And why manufacturers don’t offer this as standard equipment?

If the look would be less high tech (does’t match my bike) I would buy right away. Safety has no price.

    What about smaller headlights?

Great concept. The looks don’t really bother me, just different and high tech looking.

fantastic idea, shame about the looks though, I’m not a fan. Still, I’d love to try it out for myself.

No thanks… more electronics = more issues down the road.

I’ve researched JW’s website quite often. They have some really cool stuff. There is a 7″ locomotive light that I’d LOVE to adapt to my bike (76 FLH) but it runs on 24 volts. Hee, could you just imagine how that baby would light up the road???
