At a venue known for speed – Daytona International Speedway – Harley-Davidson took a moment to slow down and say “thank you,” inviting a group of military personnel and first responders to take an unforgettable ride around the “World Center of Racing” during the 75th Annual Daytona Bike Week. On Thursday March 10 in Daytona Beach, FL Karen Davidson, great-granddaughter of the company co-founder, riding a 2016 CVO Pro Street Breakout, led a group of military personnel and first responders on an honorary lap around the recently remodeled Speedway track.
Now through the end of 2016, all current and former U.S. military, and first responders, including law enforcement officers, firefighters and EMS professionals* are invited to learn to ride for free through Harley-Davidson’s Riding Academy program. More information is available at a Harley-Davidson dealer or going to American Heroes. If Riding Academy is not available in a particular area, qualified participants can still earn a Harley-Davidson Gift Card for the same amount of the enrollment fee for a qualified third-party motorcycle riding course.
You really get a feel for how steep the banks are at Daytona when you see those bikes riding slow on the track.
The free HD riding academy is a great way to honor all the people who serve our country so well. Good for the MO CO.
What a great Experience and what a great Treat and the ability to be able to be there and write this Article must have been a Treat for Cyril as well. You know Cyril you have the BEST JOB in the WORLD!
Check out Miracle Ride .net. We raise money for Riley Childrens Hospital and every year the ride includes a lap around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. This will be my 12th or 13th year as a part the committee and I can tell you riding around Indy is never not cool! Indy is way flatter than Daytona and you still have to haul the mail to get perpendicular, I can’t imagine Daytona.
