Similar activities and advocacy efforts are underway in several other states across the U.S.  At the signing ceremony were members of ABATE of Maryland, the Maryland Confederation of Clubs, and Motorcycle Riders Foundation. Bonnie White To Ride Cross Country On 1947 Harley-Davidson Flathead. The former bike instructor will depart her home county for San Francisco between June 30 and July 5. It isn’t her first time taking a transatlantic ride, but it is her first time doing so on a 1947 Flathead Harley-Davidson. Like other women who participated in the Cannonball endurance run, she is in agreement with Augusta and Adeline Van Buren, who embarked on their journey 100 years ago to prove to the U.S. government that ordinary women were capable of serving as motorized dispatch riders in World War I. And she would certainly second Augusta’s oft-quoted remark: “Woman can, if she will.”

If you’re going to go cross country on an antique harley, then a 45″ flathead is probably the most reliable and practical choice.

Can remember a time when being “escorted out of town” was almost like a badge of honor. And certainly no big deal….. unless you turned it into one. There was a time when simply riding a motorcycle wasn’t all that acceptable.

Moreover, generating a “Profile” is a tool used by security agencies all over the world to identify the opposition…. Check out the current crime statistics. Apparently the trend is reversing. Could that have something to do with this sudden mania against law and order…???

Profiling is a science, without it places like Israel wouldn’t exist…. and NY city streets would be a lot less safe than they have been….. Oh that’s right, they aren’t any more, are they.

More common sense and less legislation …..please!

Nicker, I remember being escorted out of town too. You are correct. It was no big deal , actually kind of fun. That was a long time ago. Today they would impound your ride and taser you if not worse. ..Z
