WorldAMDThe 2016 AMD Championship Of Custom Building is being staged for the second time at the INTERMOT Expo in Cologne, Germany, on October 4th to 9th 2016. Currently 41 custom bikes are registered by 32 competitors from 14 different countries, with over four months still to go before move-in day. A list of current entrants can be found HERE (please, note that if you are an Affiliate Show winner, you still need to complete an entry form to comply with the Terms and Conditions of entry and be added to the list of entrants)

AMDLogoThere will be 5 classes: the now traditional and highly acclaimed Freestyle Class, from which the 12th annual AMD World Champion Custom Bike Builder will be chosen, plus 4 further classes to recognize specific sectors of the custom motorcycle market. Retro/Modified Class – to showcase customs based on engines manufactured before 1984; Modified Harley-Davidson Class – to feature stock frame geometry customs with engines (minimum stock cases) from 1984 and up; Street Performance Class – to showcase custom design and engineering work where the primary objective is to improve the performance and handling of streetable customs; Cafe Racer Class – for 50s/60s inspired road race bikes.

No run testing will take place at the event itself, so video evidence of each bike being ridden must be submitted prior to arrival at the Cologne Exhibition Centre (Koeln Messe) on set-up day, Monday October 3rd, for the bike to be eligible to win a prize. We are hoping to have these videos available on display on screens in the Builders’ Lounge area throughout the show.

All competitors receive the AMD World Championship 2016 special edition ‘Competitor Logo’ for use in all their own advertising, marketing, print, website, and social media activity, in addition to a free of charge studio-grade photo-shoot set of pictures of their bike.

Someone should create an entire motorcycle from Corten steel, a trademark alloy that produces a protective layer of rust and never needs painting. They’re building a bridge of Corten steel next to the ocean nearby, and welcome’s rust of all types a “free-leech”.

What is the V twin engine on the picture above. It is detailed to the max, but I don’t recognize it.
    Anyone?

    Well, that is a puzzle.
Tranny looks like an early Albion box.
Which would suggest Royal Enfield \, but their vtwins had much different heads.

So, the motor probably also is a second source,
which in those days may have been a JA Prestwich engine….???
