Breaking News From S&S Cycle. First 50-State Fully Legal Exhaust System For Touring Motorcycles. Bolt-On. No Tuning. Proprietary High Flow CAT Technology.

S&S Cycle’s new El Dorado performance exhaust system is a 50 state legal MK 45 Muffler/Header Package for 2009-’16 Harley-Davidson® touring models and is ready to hit the streets.

The El Dorado is a complete system that includes Power Tune headers and a set of 4.5″ MK45 mufflers fitted with the latest in S&S designed high flow cat technology. Much like the automotive industry years back, high flow catalysts have finally made their way to the v-twin space!

The El Dorado Exhaust combines clean styling and an authoritative note with increased torque and horsepower. Fifty state legal (CARB EO# K-010), without the performance punishment.

Bolt on installation, does not require tuning. Choose from show quality chrome or black ceramic finish and Tracer or Thruster exhaust tips. Look for M8 applications very soon.

How about a stock vs after install dyno chart to back up the more hp and torque claims?

Sorry, The first 50 state legal system for HD Touring Motorcycles was the BUB which appeared on the market place in 2009, and was certified for 2008-2010.

The Bub exhaust was abandonned years ago and the CA version became illegal in the state. S&S would be the only one today 50-state legal.

As a dealer, looks to me like S&S Cycle is scoring a very big part of the USA 50-state bagger market. Congrats. An easy/safe sale to clients for all dealers.

They are 50 state legal and look good!

Richard Alan Farmer. You know very well that BUB was out of business 10 years ago!

Legal in 50 states, bolt-on, no tuning is HUGE. And S&S was even not in the exhaust business 1 year ago. Competition must be misfiring,

  9. 9 Ronnie Hacker May 1st, 2017 at 5:11 pm

No tuning = no extra power! Cats kill midrange & topend Horsepower.
. Cost wise putting a good set of performance slip-ons will save bucks and will have the same power!

Is this standard written to meet exhaust emissions AND noise??? I didn’t realize there was a 50 state noise standard. I know there is an SAE standard but don’t believe it’s been adopted as a federal/50 state standard. ANYONE KNOW? Also how does this system sound generally next to the stock set up?

  11. 11 Richard Farmer May 2nd, 2017 at 12:27 am

I stand by my comment that this is not the first 50 state legal system. There can be only one 1st.
I did not say BUB was available, only that it was the 1st. Donnie13, the BUB systems sold did not become illegal when BUB closed up

  12. 12 pecky May 2nd, 2017 at 5:17 am

    How do they sound?

  13. 13 BobS May 2nd, 2017 at 6:27 am

Like Ronnie Hacker I find “no tuning required” to be pretty suspect. Without retuning to fuel a freer flowing exhaust how much benefit could there be? Before and after dyno would answer that.

Great job S&S on this much needed product.

They all all lie like the side walk on their numbers for power 🙂

  19. 19 Zundap May 4th, 2017 at 1:30 pm

S&S always leaves out technical information about their products. To start they left out the cost? S&S gives the upside ONLY.

  20. 20 Blue Electra May 4th, 2017 at 1:39 pm

Zundap. S&S don’t hide the price? Cyril even put a direct link to all exhaust prices,

  21. 21 Taco May 11th, 2017 at 1:20 pm

Zundap, are you kidding us? Click before you comment. I found everything I needed on the site and I also see they posted a video for sound. I like them! S&S is still king.

Also for you farmer type people there was a company called Cycle Shack that was also California compliant but a few years back they retired and sold everything BAC stock and everything off. No longer in business also what a shame. So as for California and carb compliance systems they are far and few between for complete systems. I am exhausting this issue. Vance & Hines has also a system S&S bassini and a few others so far in my search. Almost everybody has tips or slip-ons. It is it all depends on where the Catalyst material has been put in the head pipe or in the slip ons. For as those like myself you have to have a certain tone and the look do your homework.

A slash cut cycle shack muffler on a stock cross over head pipe would out preform most full systems on the market in useful rpm range, I heard they were going out of business to bad, stupid people need smoke and mirrors and peak dyno numbers, probably why on test and tune night at the strip I’m the only harley there, not knocking S&S their shit is usually good with enthusiasts designing and developing it
