James “Jim” Gregory Red Cloud. 1955-2017.

“Jim” Gregory Red Cloud passed away at his home in Hot Springs, South Dakota. He became a Tribal attorney at the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation with for objective to to help improve conditions there.

He was a controversial entrepreneur and founder of the Hoka Hey Motorcycle Challenge, a long-distance motorcycle ride severely criticized by myself and most of you in this website.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Elizabeth Moyer-Durham; daughter, Crystal (Jerry) Carter and granddaughter, Peyton Everitt; sister, Jana Durham; and brothers, John and Joseph Durham.

This does not surprise me at all…losing 500 thousand HOG members over the past 5 years does not help.

Respect for the dead and for his family’s loss, but by all indications he was a crooked son of a bitch. Not to be missed by the motorcycle world.

Cyril’s criticism of this fellow’s creation seemed spot-on.
