Love Me Fender… Rick’s New Steel Fenders For The 2018 Harley-Davidson Softail Lineup

German Rick’s Motorcycles, a parent of official dealer Harley-Davidson Of Baden Baden, is famous for its factory model conversions. Changing the stock fenders is one of the radical ways to change the stance of your Harley to re-build it following your style personality. The German customizer has not been idle during the last few months and are now able to present the first custom bikes carrying many steel fenders and parts that have been developed and used specifically for the new Milwaukee-Eight Softails,

First, Rick’s proposes bolt-on rear fender kits for Fat Boy and Breakout available in three sizes: in 8” for the original rim with 240 tires, in 8” with original rim and 260 Metzeler tires and in 9” with 260 Metzeler tires.

Conversions for Breakout and Fat Boy are also offered as a complete kit with seat base plate, tank cover and mounting kit at a special price, For the new Slim, Heritage and Deluxe custom fenders are also available. These are for rims up to 6” and 200 size tires. A matching seat base plate is available as an option.

For all new Softails new and shapely front fenders were developed. For the Fat Boy a steel fender with a massive Bobber look was constructed, which perfectly hugs the 160/60 18”. For Slim, Heritage and Deluxe a short steel cover in an old school look was developed, following the curves of the Metzeler 130/90 16”. There is also a front wheel fender for the new Breakout, matching the tire contours of the OEM Michelin 130/60 21” and the Metzeler 120/70 21”. All front fenders are formed from strong 2.5 mm thick steel extremely resistant to twisting. Rick’s Motorcycles.

    So basically and for sure…. that front wheel is never going to make contact with the underside of that front fender, not even if Steve McQueen moto-crosse’s the bike across a deeper than normal concrete river bottom crossing? Because I’ve seen it happen. As soon as the front tire touches the underside of a Love Me Fender-type, it pitch-poled the rider and passenger onto the pavement. Next up was the Flight for Life chopper that flew them to a trauma center.

    I keep saying “who remembers when”, showing my age …
    Who remembers when we used to take an FL front fender and mount it backwards for a rear fender?

    I see the Breakout kit being very popular.

    BTW – as predicted, the M8 Softails are going to sell like hot cookies, in Europe.

    Already you can customize yours well beyond factory and sorry to say – here Europe is far ahead of the US.

    Eg – there was a hot little black Slim, at Bad Salzuflen, on the Thunderbike stand.

    How would the tire contact the front fender, unless the front axle bent or snapped??? Looks like there is a healthy 1/2″ of clearance – and that is plenty! Or am I missing something?

    Kirk interesting are you saying a rush of water between tire and fender could suddenly slowing of wheel rotation I’m not being a smart ass just curious I’m sure no rocket scientist but curious to know

    I have not seen one US customizer doing what Rick’s and others in Europe have accomplished. Sad commentary.

    What are Rick’s prices for these fenders?
