Not always easy to find the long sleeves tee-shirt you like. What about this one if you are an Indian fan?
Add some red to your wardrobe with a tee paying homage to Burt Munro’s record 183.59mph on the Bonneville Salt Flats (it was August 26, 1967)
It features a large distressed print on the front with the words ‘BONNEVILLE’ across the chest and a small distressed logo on the back. There are printed white stripes around each sleeve with a woven patch on the right hand side one. 100% cotton slub jersey. Warranty 1 Year From Date of Purchase. Sizes S to 3XL. Indian Motorcycle Clothing Store.
Distressed or patina you didn’t earn it like Polaris didn’t earn 117 years of history
Folded in ‘53, hardly 117 years…
To be fair, none of the “since whatever” script is on the shirt. It appears to be celebrating a real event with no puffery.
Now Polaris is taking credit for Burt Munro’s record.
“Now Polaris is taking credit for Burt Munro’s record”
Exactly.
He did it at a time when they did not exist at all and clearly he was not “factory” sponsored. I can’t give this one to them, poorly played attempt to re-write history to make a buck form a guy Indian/Polaris never give $1 of sponsorship to, fail!!!
Who do you think benefits from the celebrations of the record? The Munro family. You don’t think Burt would be happy about that?
The best thing Harley does is marketing.Polaris is mimicking HD.Too bad there is no originality in American motorcycling.YAWN!!
Very nice Tribute shirt. They (Polaris) legally own the name Indian Motorcycle. They recently commissioned a Tribute Bonneville Scout. Pre-53’ers should appreciate the effort..
I don’t see or read anywhere that they are claiming Burt Monroe’s historic run is theirs. Just the opposite. Showing respect….
I going to buy one. It’s getting closer to a new motorcycle.
Burt, pure respect and admiration, but he did not build it from ground up, which I believe he could have under the right circumstances. So it was still am Indian. Wish they put his name on it though.
To be sure, Indian never ceased to exist. Yes, they didn;t manufacture, for a host of reasons. In fact, for just about every reason there could be. Polaris is to be congratulated for finally giving this name a stable platform to carry on the legacy of this name.
its BS because the name should say indian motocycle not motorcycle. no R in the original.
