Last weekend, John Smolinski from American Iron Magazine was visiting the New York International Motorcycle Show. He just called me with this interesting info. Below is highlighted the official press release from NYC mayor Michael R. Bloomberg. I am glad to see the mayor of such a big city promote our sport.
“Last Year’s New York International Motorcycle Show drew nearly 80,000 attendees, and this installment looks to be even more successful. The city of New York is proud to celebrate a quarter-century of this exciting show, which has become one of the Big Apple’s most anticipated annual events. Now therefore, I, Michael R. Bloomberg, Mayor of the City of New York, in recognition of this important event, do hereby proclaim January 19th-21st, 2007 in the city of New York as International Motorcycle Show Days”.
NYC. Not the best place to ride… But bikers will appreciate the Mayor support.
So, when is he going to make parking formotorcycles easier like San Francisco that has thousands of dedicated 2 wheeler parking spots or is he just paying lip service to the Javits Center.
You are right, Rodent. We need from the mayor much more than words. Hope he reads Cyril’s blog and our comments!?!?
I am in NYc. The best place to be killed on a motorcycle.
