Lehman Trikes is cutting more than half its Westlock staff and losing its CEO as it moves the metal fabrication and engineering department to the Spearfish, South Dakota facility. "Since opening our assembly plant in Spearfish the expense and logistics of shipping our metal fabrication have risen to the point that we no longer can justify the expense of keeping this activity in Westlock," Chairman Les Brown said. About 25 workers will be laid off by Aug. 31. CEO Larry Strilchuk will retire as soon as a replacement is found. He will remain a director and consultant with the company. Lehman, with more than 100 employees between the two locations, makes trikes and conversion kits based on Harley-Davidson, Honda, Suzuki and Victory models.
