Thanks to a good tip received from one of my readers you can get online the complete list of the 2008 Harley-Davidson models still not officially released. This is the site of the California Air Resources Board, and it lists, broken down by engine displacement, all the 2008 lineup as approved by ARB. I let you discover the new engine sizes and models with new names. Tell me what you think. And of course, more info is coming from your favorite Blogger…Air Resources Board 2008 Approved Harley-Davidson Models

California Air Resources Board is a scam!!!
At Biggs HD in San Marcos They had signs on the following bikes saying they wouldn’t be available next year:
Softail Springer Custom
Softail Standard
Roadking Custom
Dyna Wideglide
Shrine is not a new model…they make Shrine models for Shriners…have for years and years now.
CARB is one out of control bureaucracy.
It should be investigated.
The incompetent should be fired.
What is a SHRINE Harley Davidson????
It’s a group of freemasonry. It is a men’s fraternity. They wear a red hat.
The “Rocker Custom” FX model might be interesting. Other than that, there is nothing that special listed. I have been hoping for a Touring V-rod to help give the family a shot in the arm sales wise. However HD seems to be still stuck in the mud. Overall very UN-exciting. Hopefully there will be a nice surprise not listed.
V-rodder
I bet the shrine is a three wheeler.
Not trying to burst any one’s bubble, but I see a few things that aren’t right in the Sporty list of bikes. One thing is that they still have a 888r which will not be produced for ’08(from several reliable sources), and they do not have a 1200N which was new for ’07, so I would bet that it will be around for ’08. That are just the 2 things that stood out to me. No telling what else could be a little wrong. Just don’t make any plans off of these list’s.
sorry, I see the “N” model sporty now. Still some other weird things in there
I will bet the Rocker is a new springer type front end.
I heard about it about 5 years ago from a enginner at Harley.
Guess will have to wait and see.
And it has been know for sometime there will be a few trikes offered in the 2008 line up.
These five
FXDWG Dyna Wide Glide
FXST Softtail Std
VRSCR Street Rod
VRSCX Screamin Eagle VRod
XL50 50th Anniversary Sportster
are not on the CARB list.
These have previously been reported to be going south and since they are absent from the CARB list it seems likely.
Also reported going south but still on the CARB list
FLHRS RK Custom
FLSTSC Softtail Springer Classic
FXSTD Deuce
XL883R Sportster Sport
What’s this I heard about catalytic converters on the 2008 models??
I wish to correct your information, Shriners do not wear a red hat ,we wear a red Fez.. Please keep that in mind. Thank you. If you were one you would know this. Not hard to find out how to be one. To be one ask one.
