The Next Great American Motorcycle Builder Is….

A new TV show about custom motorcycles? Yes, but this one will only feature amateur motorcycle builders. The Next Great American Builder is a new “take no prisoners” television program from the creator of MTV’s Fast, Inc. They are looking for amateur builders interested in coming to the show to compete for a cash prize. I you think you have what it takes, then you must fill out an online application. But before dreaming make sure that you meet all of the following qualifications: Applicant must fall under the definition of “amateur” builder. If applicant or his/her activities in the world of custom motorcycle building have ever competed in other professional events or television series where their work has been featured, then the application will be denied. I. If application is accepted, applicants will be required, at their own cost, to travel to Los Angeles to participate in a 3 day interview and selection process. This process will be filmed and included in the series. Builders will be competing for 13 spots on the show and participation in the selection process does not guarantee involvement beyond this stage. Also, applicants must be US citizens. It can be more entertaining than some pro-custom builders building their bikes because. Amateurs mistakes are going to make the show.

them problem i see is that they will not show the mistakes and the world idea that anyone can build a custom bike will be reenforced..dangerous ground, and if they do show the problems and mistakes, who wants to spend there own money to fly to cali to be selected and then be made fun of. hope it gets off the ground but i doubt it will be a good series

I disagree with comment above. I think it can be a very interesting series because they are going to show the trials & errors of the garage builders. More respect for the pros.

Tried to submit an application but it looks like the html code on the site is bad. Anyone else having problems? there isn’t an email to contact so perhaps Cyril could pass the word.

Without mistakes there is no learning.

Contrary to the “builder” images fostered on TV, bike building started in garages around the world.

The original MC “manufacturers” were home-builders putting motor in bicycles.

And may of us got our start mounting lawnmower engines in stingrays, all making lots of mistakes along the way.

For all the critics. The industry is down so why not bring a new series out. Heck the reason the industry is down is there are so many backyard mechanics and other country issues. Lets see what these big shot backyard builders have to offer when they are in the big world that puts them past looking at another builders work and smashing it with comments of what they would do. I think also they should have to pay to get in just as all the major builders did! Good luck boys.

I am tired that the only show about bikes are Orange County and I want the old motorcycle shows back. That were about the legends of motorcycles. That got down and dirty..were the old school bikers… showing off thier talent in an old garage setting…All we have now is motorcycle shows about commercials. Hurry and bring back the cool motorcycle shows… Please!
