I was just informed that Master Car Customizer and Hot Rod King Boyd Coddington died today February 27, around 6 am. Boyd was in and out of the hospital over this past month. I have no details on what caused his death. I knew Boyd personally and I am trying to contact some friends working for his business. We will miss his innovative style and his influence on the custom car world. Family will be releasing a statement very soon. My condolences to his family, friends, employees and fans

Good bye Boyd. You were such an inspiration.
That’s a real shame, this man brought a lot of spectacular products and ideas to life. He will be missed.
The man was about Detail and Quality.
Not to mention a mentor to many people.
He will be missed.

Having had the opportunity of admiring his work first hand, meeting him and riding in one of his car’s, i can say his was a true “love of the craft”. He will be sorely missed and i’m sure Chip Foose, and others will be saddened even more than those of us that didn’t get the opportunity to work with him personally. Condolences to his family and co-workers!
