Vintage Racing Pictures And More…

vintageracing1vintageracing2

By accident I discovered this site called IronWigwam featuring vintage racing pictures, old bike parts posters and illustrations. It’s the website maintained by Rick Dillinger and if you buy some of his collectibles, you help him finance his next trip to the BUB Motorcycle Speed Trials (August 30 to September 3, 09) where he will race with his Indian Streamliner. Make the jump to  IronWigwam.

Rocky is a good guy. He finally made it out to BUB last year and it was a learning curve for him and the crew. In 2009 he will have a serious effort with hopefully more support. Everyting he sells on his site goes towards his landspeed effort. It takes much more than anyone realizes, especially with minimal sponsorship. You can read more about his 2008 BUB experience here:

I bought some of the posters from Ironwigwam and they are absolutely the finest quality. The bike Rocky built is really cool too,I saw it at Bonneville and it was creating quite a buzz!

As one of the crew members from last years attempt, Lyle knows what he’s talking about. Not only did they have to thrash on the bike, they had to thrash on the tow vehicle…It is a great story for the grandchildren some day! Good luck Rocky on 2009!

Keep up the great work guys. Always a pleasure to hang with you all.
I recently got given a whole lot of vintage pics circa 1940’s mostly around Indians but what is interesting most are involving woman mainly riding them. Very interesting for the times. I plan to put these up on my site for everyone to share in them.

Cyril and everyone, The racing pictures on my web site are part of my fathers youth that involved me as a youngster and taught me the spirit of competition which I carry on with my streamliner in pursuit of a Land Speed Record. I am glad everyone enjoys them. After World War 2 and during the early 50’s was a completely different experience
