“It was again Custom Motorcycle Mayhem in Mainz/Germany with one of the biggest and most extraordinary bike show and exhibition during the CCE Dealer Show. The event includes the AMD Championship of Custom Bike Building. The 2009 edition of the Custom Chrome Europe Dealer Show succeeded to top last year attendance in terms of number of Dealers, of Bike Builders (including Arlen Ness, Marcus Walz, Fred Kodlin, etc) and number of bike show participants (116 competitors registered a total of140 custom motorcycles to get a chance to win 1 of the 3 trips to participate to the Sturgis AMD World Championship).

“The quality seen in these bikes is just incredible“, stated both Custom Chrome President Holger Mohr and AMD Show host Chris McGee. Luigi “Gigi“ Esposito of Big Twin Napoli, Italy  scored the most points to win the prestigious European title. During the weekend Custom Bike Builder Legend Arlen Ness and Victory-Europe National Sales/Brand Manager Jan Breckwoldt  presented a Ness-designed “Limited Edition“ Victory. Arlen Ness was also honored with Lifetime & Life Achievement Award” (photos Horst Rosler)

Another excellent CCE Show, and a special thanks to Horst Rosler for his hard work in organising and arranging the custom show – and then working non-stop for the entire weekend to photograph not only the event, but every one of the 115 entries.

Everyone was delighted to see Arlen, and his graciousness and impeccable manners proved yet again why he’s not only the godfather of custom building, but a true gentleman.
