Keep It For You

keepitforujpgS&S Cycle and former Crane Cams CEO Lance Harris would have paid 1.2 million for the Crane Cam name, 16 patents, 3 trademarks and inventory – Since 1967 Mike Corbin has made custom seats and accessories like fairings, backrests, saddlebags,  for almost all motorcycle manufacturers. But one day he would like to retire. His business, tangible and intangible assets,  is listed for sale for $11,5 million with The Business Team in California (424) 702-1987. To ensure a successful transition Mike is ready to stay for an extended period with the new owner.

– This weekend in Laughlin, free installation of the B-Mac Mini Air Control System by Custom Cycle Control System located front of the Aquarius – I am in the confidence and I will not tell you more, but one of the top customs of next year will have an hydraulic steering wheel! Can’t wait to see it on the road – Saxon Motorcycles is pushing hard in Europe acquiring new dealers to sell his 3 models, the Warlord, the Firestorm and the Henchman. The new dealer is in Lisbon, Portugal – Time is flying. Can you believe, it’s time again to make your booth reservation for the 10th Anniversary V-Twin Expo By Easyriders February 6th to 8th 2010.  – For my readers in the UK, don’t forget the Battistinis Open Weekend June 27/28th at their place of business in Bournemouth. Trust me, Mark Battistini knows how to throw a party. Better than at the Queen’s Palace.

I would have thought that Mike would have stepped back and let his Son run the company …. but then again for almost 12 million dollars my thoughts would have been “the kid needs to go find a job on his own!”. If he had sold the company in 2004-2005 it would have been worth twice that much …. but then again so would all of our companies.

    Over & oUt,

Jeff… Tom Corbin doesn’t work for the company anymore…. This news doesn’t surprise anybody. The store in Ormond Beach used to employ over 13 people…. 2 today.

Great prouct line, but money is money. Big chunk of assets is property and buildings in Hollister and in Florida. If one could buy name and product lines and relocate somewhere else, in US of course, might bring it down a tad as California is not business friendly for sure as well as Hollister dirt is expensive. Florida is pricey also but a lot of rally moneys but not as fruitful as it used to be even before the slide. Tighter margins.

Not sure I understand the top secret plug, but S&S did buy all of Crane Cams motorcycle related lines.
