Michael Leeds and Randy Grubb, calling themselves the “Blastolene Brothers”, are originally 2 glass artists turned into motorheads who acquired a lot of notoriety and fame after they built the Jay Leno’s Tank Car. Their style? Oversized monster hot rod automobiles powered by V12 motors and using semi truck drivetrains! For sure nothing you have seen before. And when they turn their attention to a trike, you get this insane machine looking like an elegant top fuel dragster powered by a supercharged Hemi V8. (via AutoBlog)
Right on!
Cyril – props to you on keeps up informed of the Good, the bad and the friggin cool.
I’m going to Jay Leno’s Garage next week and I’ve seen the tank car there – I’m going to go eye ball it again!
Should be raced.
This would even be more cool if they are using Nitro!
Over & Out,
Jeff
Sorry to burst your bubble but the hemi trike has alresdy been done . Back in the 70s a hemi trike and a porscha trike came acroos the St. Lawrance bridge from canada to NY state quite often and blew everything on two and three wheels away and many on four.
Hey wintermam. The merit of this trike is not only the Hemi but the design and fab. work. Gorgeous.
Where is the back rest for two up ? LOL
Where is the toilet paper ? and thats not funny.
See the form looks impressive and looks fast but is their function, two up HD looking seat that Fuji picked up on looks a bit out of place and he is right no sissy bar or even a hand strap. Maybe the custom seat is not back yet.
11″ looking all weather tread tire on front on a street dragster?, I guess so it does not dart in the freeway ruts? and angled out handlebars with reinforcing, hmmmm is it quick steering, or maybe a little harmonic shake when the HP kicks in.
Seriously has anyone ridden it or pushed it and is it rideable or just another looky look Hollywood ride. Not your everyday stuff but liked the site did not see the trike or any info referenced about it but maybe I missed it.
Grayhawk.
winterman,
RE:
“… Porsche trike…”
Ya man, remember it well.
Driver sat in front of the motor.
Had a sprint car wing over the trans-axle.
Scared me just looking at it!
Thanks for the memory.,,,, 🙂

Well, don’t really know what the builder had in mind in this case…..
But since it’s so obviously over-the-top it may be more of a design exercise than a real world “daily driver” solution.
Sort of like a 1960’s Fuel Altered Roadster.
Nothing that evil was ever expected to do any thing but scare the pee right out of ya.
And they did is so very, very well.
That’s also the beauty of “X-treeme” scooters.
IMHO anyway………. 🙂

Cool…
Really cool dashboard intergration…anyone knows what cluster was used?
Very well made…i like the detail work.Totally insane..keep up the good work.
Pretty cool, my boyfriend built a Hemi trike 15 years or more ago. His is a 331, the grandpa of them all. Check it out at http://daytonavintageracing.com/bikes/1955hemi3wheeler.html . Big Daddy Don Garlits has ridden it himself and it was at Klassix museum in daytona for years. We ride it regularly. Sometimes with him on the back and me driving .. LOL.. Not very often though as it loves to go , she will do 150 mph, but stopping fast is an issue.
Vanessa,
Great link….!!!
The main difference between humans and other animals is our ability to create stuff.
Probably why there’s interesting stuff going on in garage-shops all over this land.
Why someone hasn’t made a TV show about that is baffling, to say the least.
What individuals can accomplish on their own initiative is simply amazing.
Thanks for the Hemi trike pic.
X-treme scooters are way cool….. 🙂
