Thirty custom motorcycles built as works of contemporary art will be presented in “Art of the Chopper” an exhibition organized by Tom Zimberoff, author of 2 hard-cover books of the same name. at the Appleton Museum of Art in Ocala from Oct. 10 to Jan. 10, 2010. “Art of the Chopper” strives to present motorcycles as sculptural art representative of American culture. “Art of the Chopper” recently concluded its debut at the William J. Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock, Arkansas. The new exhibition in Ocala, Florida will emphasize the remarkable design and engineering of each custom motorcycle while clearly expressing the artistry and personality of the builders. The 30 showcased choppers will be accompanied by Zimberoff’s photography with display panels featuring background information on each bike builder. The Ocala Appleton Museum of Art is located at 4333 E. Silver Springs Blvd. (State Road 40). Tom has done a great job of preserving the biulders art form & capturing thier personalities.He dives into their history wich defines their style & motivation.He has done a great service to our industry by doing the books.
