Veterans Moving Wall At Sturgis Broken Spoke Campground

The Broken Spoke Campground, Highway 79 N, will host the Vietnam Veterans Moving Wall™ at the 69th Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

“The Wall will be the center of daily ceremonies to honor the fallen soldiers of Vietnam and other wars, as well as active duty military who continue to risk their lives on behalf of a grateful nation,” said Jay Allen, co-owner of Broken Spoke Saloons. The replica of “The Wall” in Washington, D.C. has been touring the country for 25 years. An opening ceremony to honor all active military and veterans is planned for Saturday, August 1, and a closing ceremony will take place Saturday, August 8. The Moving Wall™ will be the center of daily activities honoring fallen soldiers of Vietnam and other wars, as well as active military who continue to risk their lives on behalf of a grateful nation.

Since its first public display in 1984, the traveling memorial has been viewed at more than 500 different locations by millions of people. On Friday, July 31, 11am join the escort for The Moving Wall™. Start site: Black Hills Harley-Davidson (I-90 at Exit 55). End site: Broken Spoke Campground 79 North, Sturgis, South Dakota 57785 (Just past Bear Butte State Park). Saturday, August 1, 1pm The Moving Wall™ Opening Ceremony featuring Jan Scruggs and Peter Holt at the Broken Spoke Campground. Closing Ceremony August 8, 5pm at The Moving Wall.
