This morning, favorable weather condition. Chris Carr did a first run. Reached 355+ mph between mile 5 & 6 (timing mile), then between mile 6 & 7 engine explosion and fire. Automatic fire extinguisher started from inside. Extinguished when the Bub 7 Streamliner reached end of course at mile 11. No more run this year (to be officialized, a LSR is always the average of 2 mandatory runs).
Sam Wheeler reached 324+ mph on 1st run. May do return run before noon local hour…but maybe in a different class. The E-Z-Hook Streamliner is running in the 1350cc Motorcycle Streamlined Blown Fuel Class, and currently holds records in the 1350cc Streamlined Motorcycle Fuel Class at 294.855MPH, 1350cc Streamlined Motorcycle Gas Class at 285.747MPH and the Streamlined Motorcycle Blown Fuel Class at 332.410MPH (picture Bub 7 Streamliner at time of staging by Horst Roesler).
Wow!

Undoubtedly produces a “sphincter-pucker-factor” that pulls all the skin on your body tight as a drum.
Great effort Chris!
Can we get more pics of your scooter…….???

Awesome run! Too bad about the fire. My students and I would love to see more pics as well.
Thanks for doing what the rest of us dream about.

355 MPH on the salt …. way cool! 355 MPH on the salt on fire …… well, that is an “A Ticket” ride for sure!
Great job guys!
Over & Out,
Jeff
Dear Lord that’s fast! Glad you are safe, fire is scarey enough standing still… at 350+ mph, unimaginable!
Broken oil feed line to supercharger led to fire which melted the main chute control which caused Carr to go 5 miles to stop using one secondary chute and brakes
Holly Shit can’t imagine anything like that at all. When you land on a 747 you probably are doing doing 200-220 MPH can you Imagine one and a half times that on 250 lbs Cramped to the Fact of almost kissing your b@##s and 140 degrees . This Chris Carr Dood is the BOMB and has the Guts of a Matador having a 2000lb BULL running at you Full Speed trying to Shove his Horns through your Heart ! Just doing the One Run is enough for a UNIVERSAL RECORD !
glad Chris is ok. what a great experience that must of been. best of luck to Chris & BUB next year
