fastnewscyrilhuzeblog311[1]28 independently owned Harley Dealers closed in 2009 with another 15 Dealers expected to close in the next three months of this year. Some dealers have opted to merge their operations with another dealer in the same county – Lynn Ashcroft, with Joe Miller, is the owner of Ashcroft Motorcycles in Salem, Oregon, but also a Circuit judge. Or was until yesterday when he resigned from the Marion County Bench following allegations of misconduct. Lynn Ashcroft was the subject of an investigation by the Department Of Justice regarding claims  of official misconduct related to Ashcroft’s handling of a defendant case. This defendant would have been denied a court-appointed counsel. Ashcroft declined to discuss details of the case. Lynn Ashcroft will now work full time at his shop.

CO2 Labels on Motorcycles in Europe? The European Commission plans to propose rules that would oblige motorcycle manufacturers to label new models with the amount of carbon dioxide they emit. The commission states that motorcycle consumers should have “more in terms of information” about the impact of their vehicles on the environment”. Manufacturers oppose labeling new models with figures on CO2 emissions partly because of the way that national governments could take advantage of this information in order to impose new taxes on buyers. The motorcycle industry had “a bad experience in Spain” last year because the government discouraged some buyers of new motorcycles with varying levels of taxes based on CO2 levels – Harley-Davidson has extended its Competitive Bike Exchange trade-in program launched last December through February 28, 2010. The incentive program offers customers who trade-in an eligible non-Harley-Davidson brand motorcycle a credit of $500 above the dealer-negotiated trade-in value towards the purchase price of a new untitled Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

CO2 labels? I wonder when beer and soda bottlers will be forced to label how much CO2 their products emit (the fizzy bubbles in their products are CO2 of course). Perhaps a tax imposed on the belches caused by them, which adds even more CO2?
    Such utter nonsense.

There are some things people really don’t need to know . Who the hell knows what the CO2 value numbers equate to anyway .?!?!

Sorry to hear Lynn Ashcroft stepped down as a judge but he builds such amazing cars and bikes that I’m happy to hear he will be back in the shop full time.

Keep up the GREAT work Lynn. Don’t let the little people get ya down.
