The Rat’s Hole Show used to be a one-day event, the last Saturday of Bike Week. Then it went to 2 bike shows. And now this year, Ted Smith and crew will have 5 events using the Coca Cola Pavillion at Bruce Rossmeyer’s Destination Daytona as the Rat Fest’s headquarters. Saturday February 27th: Part 1 of the Rat’s Hole Show with free access to spectators. Wednesday March 3rd: A 27 miles v-8 motorcycle parade with Police escort starting at 1 pm, arriving around 2.30 PM at the Coca Cola Pavillion. Thursday March 4th: Old School Rat Rod Car Display with bands and more. Friday March 5th: Old School rat Ride-In Motorcycle Show with lots of contests of bikes, tattoos and pinup girls with music by Rock-A-Billy. Saturday March 6th: The Granddaddy of all bike shows running during 38 years. Abut 150 custom bikes, an Italian Showdown between the 3 best bikes of Italy awarded at the Padova Show in January (pictures), live entertainment, the Ratmates. Check out Artistic Custom’s Bike Show – Thursday, March 4th and Bikini Contest – Friday, March 5th – live music by Broken Silence both days, plus bikini bike wash, great variety of food, select vendors, and $10 raffle tickets for the K-Moto for Kids Dragon Chopper – the bike drawing is Saturday night, March 6th at Americano Resort, 1260 N. I don’t think I’ve seen the announcement that I sent about the “Industry Party For All!” on Friday night – FREE to everyone to attend – Dan Lawson Band is playing and Jack Mcintyre – BikerPICS.ORG with ACCEL motorcycle products is the host. So far on the RSVP list is Dave Perewitz, Woody of Buffalo Chip, V-Force Customs, Roar Motorcycles (that has a grand opening of their second store in Daytona Beach – this one on Beach Street is gear and accessories and will promote their dealership.) The party is open to the public to attend – on the water near Halifax Marina, off of Beach Street downtown Daytona Beach
I know you are pretty much V-Twin only, but are you aware they are expecting 10,000 to attend the 2nd Annual Sportbike Festival – at the Daytona Bandshell this year? Sponsored by BMW and others, the bandshell is very near the Hilton – in the 200 block of North Atlantic Ave. AIA – the flier says 50 models with $1,000 going to top bikini contest winner – also hot bikes, longest ride, and other contests – that’s on the last Saturday, March 6th 2 to 8 p.m. Daytona Bike Week 2010.
