the auto companies have been doing this for years, harley davidson has been asleep for years;wake up its a buyers market!!! longer warranty programs, that are transferable,to the next owner add value to the product and make it easyer,to trade-in …its not brain surgury!! autospherefred.

Well not every one is a brain surgeon. Unless you’ve been living in a hole you would know that for many years HD motorcycles haven’t needed to take these steps due to the supply and demand nature. HD owners Be greatful the Mo Co hasn’t operated like the car companies and stuffed yard full of new HOG’s and then 6 months later they are worth half of what you paid for it.
I applaid these programs on an as needed basis other wsie what you gain today you will lose 2 fold in the next year.

Agree with Pedro, why would Harley have had a program like that when they sold all thier bikes? They went to it when it was needed, that’s smart buisiness.

    It’s a Fire Sale . . .

What’s next? “We stack ’em deep and sell ’em cheap!”

I’m with Pedro and John on this one. The move is smart marketing at the right time and in the right place. I bought a 2009 Street Glide, trading in my 2004 CVO which had numerous accessories, and upgraded motor, a 6-speed box and a Fat Baggers rear end. It was the almost ultimate version of the 2004 CVOs but the 2009/2010 Tourers are a quantum leap in every way. Handling – compared with all that went before it – is a dream. This offer from Harley-Davidson is well worth looking at if you ride a pre-2009 Tourer. Take a test ride, you will be amazed and quite rapt. Disclaimer: I have no financial or other connection to the Harley-Davidson Motor Company, nor have I ever had any such connection.
