Under a very uninspiring cover layout, this book is a gorgeous and very useful 160-page display of the best custom motorcycles of these last years. Even better, the book goes beyond stacking pages of rolling art.
It is divided in sections showing you the best of frames, fenders, gas & oil tanks, front ends, seats, suspension, seats, wheels, paint etc. and all this in 4 main categories: chopper, bobber, bagger & cruiser. The idea is of course to inspire you if you intend to start a bike project or if you are stuck out of ideas in the middle of one.
Writer Howard Kelly (ex Hot Bike editor) explains how to fine tune your bike design and photographer Michael Lichter illustrates what you can do by providing a selection of his best overall and details close-up photography from his personal collection. I’ll have to get a copy and add it to my library. I’ll put it right next to the Bobber build book by Kevin Baas. The students have that thing pretty dog-eared already. Knowing Howard, this will be a great resource as well.
