Daytona Fusion Fundraiser Party

The Annual Daytona Biker Fusion Party held at the Dog House during Bike Week is not only an opportunity for the public to mingle with a A list of personalities of the motorcycle industry – custom builders, manufacturers, medias – but also a wonderful fundraising effort orchestrated by Carrie Repp (R&R Promotion) with the help of  sponsors like the  Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino, Baker, Spectro Oils, Hot Leathers, Rise Above Consulting, etc.

Bert Baker of Baker Drivetrain and custom bike builder Brian Fuller served as hosts and auctioned thousand of dollars of items to benefit the Post 911 Foundation (honoring and assisting first responders and veterans who have served our nation in the aftermath of 9/11) and Soldiers’ Angels (providing aid and comfort to the men and women of the US Armed Services).

Highlight of this 2010 event included a presentation of the Special Sidehack built specifically for Romy Camargo, a wounded Special Forces soldier paralyzed by a gunshot wound while serving in Afghanistan. Romy’s friend, Special Forces teammate and custom bike builder Izzy Izquierdo, along with three additional Special Forces members created a bike/sidecar combination just for Romy, the funds being raised by the Post 911 Foundation. It was very cold during this Daytona evening, but everybody felt warmer knowing that they gave some joy to Romy Camargo and a well deserved support to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan

The Biker Fusion party is a wonderful fundraiser event for an important cause. Experiencing Romy Camargo’s presence, along with his friends and family was a very moving moment. It was an honor to be in the presence of the Special Forces members, too. Bravo to all the sponsors and event coordinators.
