Unorthodox final arrangements and unusual graves are common among bikers. David Morales Colón, a 22-year old Puerto Rican, was probably too young to make his own request before he was shot to death last week. But his family didn’t hesitate to ask the chosen funeral directors if it was possible to organize a wake showing David in a very lifelike position riding a Honda CBR600 (not his but one given by his uncle for this special occasion) dressed in casual attire and wearing sunglasses. And if you think it’s a hoax, you can get all the details (if you read Spanish), including a video, in the local Puerto Rico newspaper The Local Primera Newspaper.

Tenga un buen dia mi amigo
Imagine if theme funerals caught on . . .
“Hey, you want to go to my aunt Connie’s services? She was the hooker, ya know.”
“You betcha!”
Seems a bit creepy to me, but whatever floats yer boat.
Although unusual and very uncommon, I think that it is super cool. Grieving is inevitable in event of losing a loved one but funerals are supposed to be a celebration of life for the one who has passed away and also to comfort those who survive the deceased. How strange is it to go to a tattooed, punk rockin, mohawk wearing dude’s funeral and when you see him, he has a normal haircut and is dressed in a suit?
i love riding but when its over it is over, excuse me while i reattach my skin. gldemania
It can’t be any more morbid, than back in the old day, when the photographed viewings of the deceased. I have several photo’s of people that my Grandparents new laid to rest.
