Your Motorcycle Brand Has Never Been On A Ride Like This…

Your brand can get media exposure from coast to coast and well beyond. I received this letter  from 3-time Motorcycle Hall of Fame Inductee Cris Sommer Simmons.

“Hi, A few months ago I decided to enter the pre-1916 cross country motorcycle race/ride called the Motorcycle Cannonball. This historic 3,320 mile ride leaves Kitty Hawk, NC on Sept. 10, 2010 and arrives 16 days later in Santa Monica, CA on Sept. 26th. I am the only American woman entered in the ride. Of the 70 registered riders, there are only two other woman from Europe entered. (Both riding smaller, single speed, single cylinder motorcycles.) I will be riding my 1915 Harley-Davidson Twin cylinder 3 speed, coincidentally the very same model that Effie and Avis Hotchkiss rode on their record setting journey across the country back in 1915, becoming the first women to cross America by motorcycle.

I believe I am up for the challenge and take this event very seriously. Currently, I am looking for sponsorship. I will be featured in a film on my adventure and am also writing a book about it.  I was featured on a CBS Sunday Morning segment March 28, 2010 and more recently interviewed by Jay Leno on his “Jay’s Garage” website. The New York Times is also interested in covering my Cannonball ride.

I can offer logo presentation on my chase vehicle starting at $500.00 for a 12” x 12” size and up. This will also include mention in the credits of my film, name and/or Logo on my crew t-shirts and mention in my press. Of course, if you would like a larger one, we can talk about that too. I have a whole van to decorate! I will be driving this chase van across the USA, to Kitty Hawk, NC for the start of the race, in late August, stopping in Davenport, Iowa for the Antique Motorcycle Club of America’s National meet. There, I will be signing my top selling book ‘The American Motorcycle Girls. 1900 to 1950”.  My bike will be set up next to my chase van there, and at every stop of the 16 day ride, at the end of each days ride. There is lots of exposure to be had for my sponsors!

I’ve just started reaching out and so far, sponsors include Kaenon Sunglasses, A.D. Farrow Harley-Davidson, Redline Racing Oil and the Scott Jacobs Studio. There has never been a ride like this and there may well not be another. Please let me know if you are interested. I am open to any ideas that you may have. Thanks.” Cris Sommer Simmons. For those of us that know Chris we can say she is surely the person to do this ride.
Hopefully those in a position to help with her expenses will do so.
