Chopper Para La Vida

Between the garage builders and professional custom builders, there is a category of semi-pros whose main business is not to build motorcycles. They all chose their business because they love to ride, and don’t miss an opportunity to wrench their own one-off bikes. With the advantage that they know the latest trends, the newest parts long before the retail clientele has any knowledge of them and that they have built a network of industry friends able to help them on any project. Behind this “Para La Vida” Chopper (do I really need to translate from Spanish?), somebody whose face is familiar here in the US during our main professional events like the Dealers V-Twin Expo.

His name is Gerard Voilque a.k.a. GG, co-owner of MAG Connection, a motorcycle parts purchasing group whose mission is to link American part manufacturers and dealers with their European counterparts (pun intended) For example a MAG registered dealer can have access to more than 1 million American parts, and with a part in stock at his french Riviera headquarters he can deliver any motorcycle dealer in Europe in less than 72 hours. He will tell you than flying back & forth across the Atlantic is not as fun as one can imagine and that being prisoner of a big steel bird during hours has only one merit. Of course, letting you think about your next personal project.

Believe it or not, The “Estados Unidos Mexicanos” commonly known as Mexico has a big cultural influence not only in our southern States but also on the other side of the big pond. And GG loves it. So, with a Mexican mural paint theme in mind, he gathered a couple of friends (hello fred and Franck) to build this very colorful chopper where the Jesse James influence can’t be missed. But it’s also a rolling catalog of some, if not new, of the best parts of the after-market custom motorcycle industry. The list follows. West Coast Choppers CFL frame, 127″ Black Gem Ultima motor with 48 mm Mikuni Carburetor, Ultima Drag Race open belt system, 6-speed Jimms transmission, WCC rear fender/anodized oil bag/forward controls, Kustom Tech hand controls, SJP front end, RC Components wheels, Bike Builders Bible headlight, Joker Machine mirror, New York City Choppers seat installed on Platinum Air Shocks, Beringer brakes, Heartland taillight, hand made handlebars. MAG Connection.
